10 Best AI for Sales Prospecting in 2026
Short answer: Apollo Basic at $49 a user a month, billed annually, when you want one database and sequences. Clay from $60 a month when the list needs research across many providers. LinkedIn Sales Navigator Core at $119.99 a month when the source of truth is the people graph.
I would not buy a call recorder or an email coach to fix a thin list, because those products grade a conversation you have not started. Dupple data: Toolradar, our software directory, tracks 103 sales intelligence tools as of September 2026. The wider stack, including HubSpot's agent, Lavender, and Gong, is in AI tools for sales prospecting. Every price below was checked on the vendor's own site on September 23, 2026.

What an AI prospecting tool does
An AI for sales prospecting finds accounts and people, fills in an email or a phone, and drafts or sends the first touch. A CRM and a call recorder sit next to that job, and call analysis belongs in sales engagement platforms and AI sales assistants.
How we chose
Toolradar's sales intelligence category lists 103 tools, updated September 2026, and I ranked 10 for finding accounts, verifying contacts, or sending a first sequence. Prices come from each vendor's site on September 23, 2026, no vendor paid for a slot, and the directory order differs. Chat assistants start in how to use ChatGPT for sales.
Apollo, the default when you want one system
Apollo combines a contact database, sequences, a dialer on higher plans, and an AI research agent. The data page states 240 million contacts, 30 million companies, and a 98% email accuracy rate after a seven-step check.
Who it's for: A team that will prospect and sequence in one product, and that can live with an annual credit pool.
Apollo's credits guide, updated September 3, 2026, reprints the pricing page. Free is 900 credits a year, and free sending accepts Gmail only, so the unpaid seat will not run a team domain. Basic is $49 a user a month billed annually, with 30,000 credits a year. Professional is $79 a user a month billed annually, with 48,000 credits, where AI research and the US dialer sit, so a calling team should not stay on Basic. Organization is $119 a user a month billed annually, minimum three users, with 72,000 credits.
A trial includes 50 credits and 5 mobile credits. Non-paying accounts on an unlimited plan cap at 10,000 credits a month, and paying ones cap at the lesser of spend divided by $0.025 or 1 million credits a year. An email is 1 credit, a mobile can add up to 8, and phone waterfall runs about 8 to 25 credits a record, so phones empty the year faster than email rows.
The catch: Five Basic seats are $245 a month before waterfall, and a 1,000-person phone waterfall can consume a Professional pool. Unused credits do not roll, according to that guide.
The default when the annual pool is sized for phones, not for email-only rows.
Clay, when one provider is not enough
Clay waterfalls 150 or more providers and runs Claygent, its web research agent, over the row. Seats are unlimited, and the meter is actions plus data credits.
Who it's for: Someone who will build the list, push it to a sequencer, and accept a row cap while testing.
The pricing page gives Free 500 actions and 100 data credits a month, a 200-row cap, Claygent, and no phone enrichment. Launch actions start at $60 a month for 15,000 actions, or $54 a month annually for 180,000 actions a year. The annual card's $167 a month is that action block at $54 plus 30,000 data credits at $113, a bundle of actions and data credits. Growth's annual card is $446 a month, combining 480,000 actions at $185 with 72,000 data credits at $261, and monthly Growth actions start at $205 for 40,000. Enterprise is custom, trials last 14 days, and extra credits on Launch and Growth cost 30% more.
The catch: CRM sync, web intent, and HTTP API access sit on Growth, not Launch. Enriching more than 50,000 records at once is Enterprise, and a free workspace cannot buy phone numbers.
The research layer in front of a sequencer, and a poor first buy for one verified work email.
LinkedIn Sales Navigator, when the graph is the source
Sales Navigator is LinkedIn's own search, alerts, and AI account briefs, and it is not a bulk email database.
Who it's for: A seller whose best names live on LinkedIn, including a solo rep who does not need CRM sync yet.
The compare-plans page, updated August 1, 2026, lists Core at $119.99 a month, or $1,079.88 a year. Advanced is $159.99 a month, or $1,799.88 a year, and Advanced Plus has no list price. Every plan includes 50 InMails a month, and you can buy up to five Advanced licenses online. LinkedIn says those figures can exclude tax. A trial requires that you are not on a paid LinkedIn subscription and have not trialed in the past 365 days, and annual cancellation waits until the end of the paid year.
The catch: Five Core licenses on the monthly rate are $599.95, and they still need a sender. Core is the individual plan, so CRM write-back is already the wrong tier.
Required when the account map is LinkedIn, and the wrong place to export a large email list.
Amplemarket, when you want agents in the same seat
Amplemarket sells data, multichannel sequences, and AI intent on one annual contract, with Duo and an MCP listed on the same pricing page.
Who it's for: A two-person team ready for an annual term, not a solo rep testing one month of cold email.
The pricing page lists Startup at $600 a month on an annual term, with 2 users, 27,000 contacts, multichannel sequences, and AI intent signals. Growth is custom, with 4 users and 140,000 contacts. Elite is custom, with 10 users and 400,000 contacts. Across those three plans the grid lists 13,500, 35,000, and 40,000 email credits per user per year, and 600, 5,000, and 9,600 phone credits, and every plan includes a trial.
The catch: A year of Startup is $7,200 before extra users, and 140,000 contacts is a quote. The first phone column is 600 credits per user per year, which is a thin calling year.
The consolidated stack once you are done paying two vendors, and too heavy while the ICP is still open.
Hunter, when seats should not multiply the bill
Hunter finds and verifies emails, then sequences them. Users are unlimited on every plan, and the pool of credits is shared.
Who it's for: A small team that needs work emails and would rather add mailboxes than buy a seat per rep.
The pricing page gives Free 50 credits a month, 1 mailbox, and 500 recipients per sequence. Starter is $34 a month billed yearly, with a higher month-to-month rate beside it, 2,000 credits, and 3 mailboxes. Growth is $104 a month on yearly billing, or $149 month to month, with 10,000 credits and 10 mailboxes. Scale is $209 a month yearly, or $299 month to month, with 25,000 credits and 20 mailboxes. A find costs 1 credit, a verify costs 0.5, a failed find is free, extra mailboxes start at $10 a month, and managed domains start at $6.
The catch: Verifying 2,000 Starter finds spends another 1,000 credits, so the month is finds or a mix, not both at full volume. AI searches cap at 10 a month on Free and 50 on Starter, and Hunter is a weak phone book.
The cheapest shared email pool for a whole team, and the wrong system when the motion is dials.
Instantly, when the constraint is inbox volume
Instantly separates a sending product from a lead-credit product. Both can show the same monthly number, and they are not the same bill.
Who it's for: A team that already holds domains and mailboxes, and that will outgrow one primary sending domain.
On the pricing page, Outreach Growth is $47 a month, or $37.60 yearly, with unlimited mailboxes, unlimited warmup, 1,000 uploaded contacts, and 5,000 emails a month. Hypergrowth is $97 a month, or $77.60 yearly. Light Speed is $358 a month, or $286.30 yearly, with 500,000 emails, 100,000 uploaded contacts, and dedicated IP rotation. A separate credits product, at that same monthly rate, includes 1,500 credits, a database Instantly states at 450 million leads, waterfall enrichment, and a web research agent.
The catch: Growth's 5,000-email cap is about 166 sends a day, and buying leads does not raise it. Sending plus credits is $94 a month before domains.
The sending buy when mailbox count is the bottleneck, after the list already exists somewhere else.
Lusha, when the rep works from the browser
Lusha reveals emails and phones on a credit, with a browser extension and CRM sync on the free plan.
Who it's for: A rep who looks up people one profile at a time, and who will spend credits on email before phones.
Structured prices on the pricing page put Free at 40 credits a month. Starter is $49.90 a month, or $37.45 on annual billing, with 400 credits a month. Professional is $69.90 a month, or $52.45 yearly, with 600 credits. Premium is $399.90 a month, or $299.95 yearly, with 3,400 credits. An email is 1 credit and a phone is 5. Monthly leftovers roll up to twice the plan limit, annual credits reset at year end, and teams above 5 users move to a custom Scale plan.
The catch: Forty free credits are 40 emails or 8 phones, and a Starter month of phones is 80 numbers. Rollover stops at twice the plan limit, so a quiet month does not bank a quarter of credits.
A fair extension when emails dominate, and an expensive dialer if every row needs a mobile.
Kaspr, when the work happens on the LinkedIn profile
Kaspr is a Chrome extension over LinkedIn profiles. Paid plans pool credits across the team and uncap B2B emails.
Who it's for: Reps who already work from a LinkedIn profile and want the email or phone on that same screen.
The pricing page prices Free at $0 per user: 15 B2B email credits, 5 phone credits, and 5 direct-email credits a month. Starter on annual billing matches Apollo Basic's per-user rate, or $65 month to month, with unlimited B2B emails, 100 phone credits a month, 5 direct emails a month, and up to 12,000 exports a year. Business is $79 a user a month on annual billing, or $99 month to month, with 200 phone credits and 200 direct emails a month. Sales Navigator enrichment starts on Starter, and annual plans deposit a year of credits up front.
The catch: Unlimited applies to B2B emails, not to mobiles or direct emails. Five direct emails a month will not feed a personalization program, and the extension still assumes a LinkedIn workflow, often with a Sales Navigator seat beside it.
The overlay for a LinkedIn-first team, once phones and direct emails are accepted as the real meter.
Lemlist, when the sequence is more than email
Lemlist sells an engagement plan and then meters data and intent as add-ons, and the Email plan does not charge per seat.
Who it's for: A team with real send volume that also wants LinkedIn steps and will pay separately to enrich.
The pricing page shows Email at $55 a month on yearly billing, with $69 as the undiscounted price, unlimited users, and 50,000 emails a month. Multichannel is $87 a month yearly, or $109 undiscounted, per user, with 5 senders and LinkedIn steps. The 10,000-credit data add-on is $75 a month yearly or $94 month to month, described as 2,000 emails or 500 phones. Signals at 100 a month are $21 a month on yearly billing, or $29 month to month. The trial is 14 days without a card, and the Email plan lists a database Lemlist states at 650 million leads, plus lemAgent.
The catch: The Email plan does not include the data meter. Five hundred phones consume the entire 10,000-credit add-on, so a calling motion reprices the stack. Quarterly billing saves 10% rather than the yearly 20%.
The sequencer once email volume is high and LinkedIn steps matter, with enrichment on its own line.
Cognism, when the phone has to be verified and the price will not be public
Cognism sells prospecting seats, a separate CRM enrichment product, and data-as-a-service. The pricing page does not print a dollar.
Who it's for: A team of at least five that needs mobiles, especially outside a US-only database, and that can wait on a quote.
The pricing page includes 5 seats on Standard and on Pro. Standard covers contact data, filters, AI account research, and CSV export. Pro adds a premium mobile filter, on-demand verification, and intent. Cognism publishes no list price. One credit reveals one contact, a repeat view is free, and a job change spends another credit. Pro intent uses Bombora, with up to 12 topics from a library of more than 11,000. CRM enrichment can be bought alone, and API access requires a prospecting seat.
The catch: You cannot set a five-seat year next to a published Apollo bill until the quote arrives, and Standard omits the premium mobile filter.
A short-list option for verified mobiles after a quote, and a bad fit when the price has to be public tonight.
What you will actually pay
Five Apollo Basic seats are $245 a month on annual billing, with 150,000 credits in the year, before phone waterfall. Five Sales Navigator Core licenses on the monthly rate are $599.95 and still need a sender. Hunter's yearly Starter rate plus three extra mailboxes is $64 a month. Amplemarket Startup is $7,200 a year, and Cognism has no public dollar at its five-seat floor.
Compare the wider stack in AI sales tools, B2B sales software, and a CRM for sales teams. Conversion math is in pipeline generation benchmarks.
How to choose for the list in front of you
Match the missing step: search plus sequences, a waterfall, the LinkedIn committee, a shared email pool, a profile lookup, sending, one annual platform, or verified mobiles on a quote. Weekend free tiers are in free sales intelligence software, and the definition of a qualified lead is in qualified leads.
Common mistakes when pricing this stack
Treating Apollo credits as a monthly allowance can spend the Basic year on one phone waterfall. A 1,000-record phone waterfall is about 8,000 to 25,000 credits, against the credit pool for that whole year.
Quoting Clay's $167 card as the entry price skips the cheaper action-only meter. Phones are off Free, and CRM sync is off Launch.
Buying Sales Navigator Core for CRM sync leaves Salesforce and HubSpot on unpriced Advanced Plus. Five monthly Core licenses are $599.95.
Counting Lusha credits as people spends five credits on a phone, so the pools in that card are not a headcount.
Assuming Kaspr unlimited emails include mobiles leaves Starter at 100 phone credits and 5 direct emails a month, on the $65 month-to-month rate too.
Buying Instantly Growth once covers 5,000 sends or 1,500 lead credits, not both. The pair is $94 a month.
Adding Lemlist data late puts a $75 yearly pack beside the $55 Email plan, and 500 phones use the whole 10,000-credit step.
FAQ
What is the best AI for sales prospecting in 2026?
Apollo, for a database and sequences on one bill: Basic is $49 a user a month billed annually, with 30,000 credits a year. Clay from $60 a month fits a waterfall. Sales Navigator Core at $119.99 a month fits the LinkedIn graph. The 103 directory tools are not copies of one seat.
How much does AI for sales prospecting cost in 2026?
In September 2026, entry points run from Hunter Starter at $34 a month on yearly billing and Instantly Growth at $47 a month, through Lusha Starter at $49.90 and Lemlist Email at $55, up to Amplemarket Startup at $600 a month on an annual term. Clay's annual Launch bundle is $167 a month, Cognism publishes no dollar, and five Apollo Basic seats are $245 a month before waterfall.
Is there a free AI for sales prospecting in 2026?
Apollo Free is 900 credits a year, Clay Free is 100 data credits with no phones, and Hunter Free is 50 credits plus one mailbox. Lusha Free's 40 credits equal 8 phones. Kaspr Free is 15 B2B email credits and 5 phone credits per user. Lemlist trials for 14 days, and Sales Navigator blocks a trial if you used one in the past 365 days.
Should I use Apollo or Clay?
Use Apollo when one rep should search, enrich, and sequence. Professional, at $79 a user a month annually, adds AI research and the US dialer. Use Clay when fill rate is the problem: the action meter starts below the annual bundle, and the $167 figure bundles actions with data credits for a year. Keep Clay on the row and a sequencer on the send if you need both.
Do I still need LinkedIn Sales Navigator if I have a database?
You need it when the profile, the alert, or the buying committee is the record you trust. Core includes 50 InMails a month on the individual plan. It does not replace bulk email, and CRM write-back is Advanced Plus, which has no list price.
What is the difference between this page and the other prospecting roundup?
This page is the find-and-first-touch buy, while AI tools for sales prospecting also covers HubSpot's agent, Lavender, Gong, and ChatGPT, which is the page for coaching or call review.
Is Cognism worth it without a public price?
Get a quote if you need on-demand mobile verification and can staff five seats, the minimum on Standard and Pro. Skip it when you need a website price tonight. One credit reveals one contact, and Pro intent stops at 12 topics.
Bottom line
Start on Apollo Basic for data and sequences on one annual seat, add Clay when one provider is not enough, and pay for Sales Navigator when the account map is LinkedIn.
