Is Calendly Free in 2026? What the Free Plan Covers

Trusted by790,000+ Techpresso subscribers·Editorial policy·How we make money

Yes. Calendly has a free plan, and its pricing page labels it "Always free" (Calendly pricing, as of October 25, 2026). The limit that decides whether it works for you is the event type. The Free card includes "One event type" and "One calendar connection," which covers one meeting type on one calendar. That suits a freelancer or consultant with a single standing call. Once you need a second meeting type or automated reminders, the paid plans start at $10 per seat per month billed yearly.

Toolradar data: Toolradar tracks 108 meeting scheduling tools as of October 24, 2026, and 57% of them are free, freemium or open source. Free tiers are common in this category, so the more useful question is where Calendly's free tier stops. Toolradar's meeting scheduling ranking

What the free plan includes

The Includes list on the Free card has five entries: "One event type," "One calendar connection," "One-on-one scheduling," "Customizable booking page" and "Browser extension." One-on-one scheduling means one host books one invitee at a time. The customizable booking page lets you adjust the page people see when they book with you.

That set is enough for a consultant who sends every prospect to the same 30-minute call, from one calendar. A clinic that offers a 15-minute intake next to a 60-minute session runs into the paid line as soon as it adds the second event type. The free plan also has no team features. The Free card lists none, and team scheduling starts on Teams.

Free, Standard and Teams side by side

Prices are per seat per month on the yearly option, which the page shows by default.

The difference between Standard and Teams is mostly routing. Standard suits an individual or a small team that needs several event types, more calendars and connected tools. Calendly's help center describes it as the plan for individuals or small teams who need advanced scheduling options. Teams adds round-robin and team scheduling, centrally managed event types, and lead qualification and routing. That matters when meetings get handed between people rather than booked with one host.

Seats are the cost detail most buyers miss. Standard's card says "Seats are required for users to connect calendars and host Calendly meetings," (Calendly pricing, as of October 25, 2026), and it adds that "meeting invitees do not require a seat." Teams has the same invitee rule, with invitees who "do not require an account or seat." Its seat wording is about connecting calendars and creating Calendly links, not hosting meetings. You pay for the people who run the calendar, not for everyone who books time with them.

What the free plan leaves out

Each item below is either a paid line or, for polls, not named on the Free card, so the question is which of them your bookings need.

Multiple event types. Standard lists "Unlimited event types." A free account can keep one event type active at a time. Once you need a second meeting type, the free plan no longer covers it.

More than one calendar. The free plan allows one calendar connection. The help center says Standard can "Connect up to six calendars to be checked for conflicts" (Calendly help: Choose the right Calendly plan for your team, updated September 2, 2026), which is useful when a work calendar and a personal calendar both need to block the same hour.

Reminders and automation. Standard lists "Automations & reminders." The pricing page describes one of the features in that group, Automate meeting reminders, as "Send reminders automatically before meetings to cut down on no-shows" (Calendly pricing, as of October 25, 2026).

Integrations and payments. The Free card names no CRM or marketing integration. Standard adds connections to Hubspot and Mailchimp, plus Stripe and PayPal for payments. Teams adds Marketo, Pardot and Salesforce. For free CRM options that connect to a calendar tool, see free CRM software.

Polls and one-off meetings. The pricing page lists "Meeting polls and one-off meetings" as a feature, but the Free card does not name it, so the card does not say whether the free plan includes it.

Team routing and single sign-on. Round-robin scheduling sits on Teams. SSO is an optional add-on on Teams, and the pricing page lists Enable SSO & SAML and Domain control under Enterprise.

Notetaker and Callie. Both are sold as an add-on to Standard or Teams. Callie is described on the pricing page as "An AI assistant that schedules over email" (Calendly pricing, as of October 25, 2026). The add-on raises the price: Standard Plus is $18 per seat per month billed yearly ($24 monthly), and Teams Plus is $24 billed yearly ($32 monthly) (Calendly pricing, as of October 25, 2026). For a wider look at the category, see AI meeting assistants.

Monthly or yearly billing

As of October 2026, the pricing page opens on yearly billing. "Save 17%" sits next to Standard and "Save 20%" next to Teams. The monthly option costs more per seat: Standard is $12 and Teams is $20 per seat per month when billed monthly.

Teams also steps down with seat count on annual subscriptions. The help center (Calendly help: Choose the right Calendly plan for your team, updated September 2, 2026) lists $16 per seat per month for seats 1 to 30, $14.50 for 31 to 50, $14 for 51 to 100, $13.50 for 101 to 200, $13 for 201 to 300, and $12 for 301 and up, all billed annually. At that rate, ten seats come to $160 a month, or $1,920 a year.

Enterprise starts at $15k per year for 50 seats. The pricing page adds that the plan is "Available in USD only" (Calendly pricing, as of October 25, 2026).

What the price history shows

In the six archived copies below, the paid lineup changed once, between the January 2023 and January 2024 copies. The January 6, 2022 copy lists Essentials at $8, Professional at $12 and Teams at $16, each per seat per month. The January 7, 2023 copy keeps those three paid tiers, and its free tier is labeled BASIC. By the January 2, 2024 copy, Essentials and Professional are gone, Standard sits at $10, and Teams stays where it was.

The January 2, 2025, December 28, 2025 and October 20, 2026 copies show Standard and Teams at those same prices. The October 2026 copy adds "Add Notetaker & Callie" to both paid cards. The January 2024 and January 2025 copies do not mention Notetaker at all.

The snapshots are: January 6, 2022, January 7, 2023, January 2, 2024, January 2, 2025, December 28, 2025 and October 20, 2026. For current prices, use the live Calendly pricing page.

What users report

Calendly's own community has a thread from March 18, 2024 titled "Only one active event type in free version of Calendly?" A Calendly reply in the thread says that "only one event type is able to be 'turned on' with our free plan." Another reply in the same thread says the writer had several event types active on the free version for a few days. That matches the Free card today, which reads "One event type." Anyone planning several booking links on a free account will hit that limit. Calendly Community thread

How the free plan compares with Cal.com

Cal.com's pricing page lists a free tier with "1 user" and "Unlimited event types & calendars" (Cal.com pricing, as of October 25, 2026). For someone who needs several meeting types and calendars on one account, that is a different starting point from Calendly's one event type. On event types and calendars, Calendly's free plan is narrower than Cal.com's free tier. For the wider field, see Calendly alternatives on Dupple.

Who should stay free and who should pay

  • The free plan fits a solo person with one meeting type and one calendar. Invitees need no account and no seat, so the cost stays with the host. For other free options in the meeting space, see free AI meeting assistants.
  • Standard fits an individual or small team that needs more than one event type, a second calendar, automated reminders, or a Stripe or PayPal payment step.
  • Teams fits a team that routes meetings between people or leads, where round-robin scheduling is the job.
  • Enterprise fits organizations that need SSO and SAML, domain control and an audit log. It starts at $15k per year for 50 seats.

Questions

Can a team use the free plan?

The Free card lists no team features, and round-robin and team scheduling begin on Teams, so a team that wants shared routing needs Teams.

Do the people I book need an account or a seat?

No. Standard's card says meeting invitees do not require a seat, and Teams says invitees do not require an account or seat. Seats apply to the people who connect calendars and host meetings.

Which integrations come with the free plan?

The Free card's Includes list names no CRM or marketing integration. The help center mentions basic integrations on the free plan, without naming them. Hubspot and Mailchimp come with Standard, and Marketo, Pardot and Salesforce come with Teams.

Is Callie part of the free plan?

No. Callie is sold with Notetaker as an add-on to Standard or Teams, and the pricing page heading reads "Add Notetaker and Callie to Standard or Teams plans."

How much does yearly billing save?

The pricing page prints "Save 17%" on Standard and "Save 20%" on Teams. Those savings are measured against the monthly rate, so yearly billing is the cheaper way to run a paid seat for a full year.

The verdict

For one meeting type on one calendar, the free plan does the job at no cost. Move to Standard when the second event type shows up, and move to Teams when routing meetings across people is the work.

The free plan covers one meeting type on one calendar. A second event type is the point where paying starts. Try Dupple X →
