HeyGen Pricing 2026: Every Plan, Credits and What a Video Costs

Short answer: HeyGen has a Free plan at $0 (3 watermarked videos a month, up to 1 minute each), Creator at $29 a month or $24 billed yearly with 600 credits, Pro from $49 a month with 1,000 to 100,000 credits, Business at $149 a month plus $20 per extra seat, and Enterprise on quote. Verified on HeyGen's pricing page in October 2026.
Picture a sales team that wants each rep to send one personalised avatar video a week. The plan price is the small decision. The real ones are how many seats you need, which avatar engine you use, and how fast that burns credits, because one minute of video can cost 4 credits or 80 depending on the feature.

Prices and limits read on heygen.com/pricing and in HeyGen's credit-based plans guide on 28 October 2026. The yearly toggle is labelled "2 months free".
How much does HeyGen cost per month vs per year?
Yearly billing cuts Creator from $348 a year (12 monthly payments) to $288, a $60 saving, by our arithmetic. Pro's entry tier drops from $49 to an effective $41 a month, billed as $488 once a year, and Business from its monthly price to $119, billed as $1,428.
The yearly plan also changes what happens to unused credits. HeyGen says monthly subscribers' leftover credits roll over for one more month, while annual subscribers' credits build up until the renewal date. For anyone whose output is lumpy, a quiet month followed by a launch, that rollover is worth as much as the discount.
The trade-off is commitment: HeyGen says cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the billing cycle, after which the account drops to Free and unused credits are lost, so a yearly plan you stop using still costs the full year.
What are HeyGen credits and how far do they go?
Credits are HeyGen's single currency for video and asset creation on paid plans. Each feature burns them at its own rate, per HeyGen's credit usage guide:
| Feature | Credits per minute of video | Minutes from Creator's 600 credits |
|---|---|---|
| Avatar III, Video Look | 4 | 150 |
| Avatar III, Photo Look | 7 | 85 |
| Avatar IV, Photo Look | 16 | 37 |
| Avatar IV, Video Look | 31 | 19 |
| Avatar V (Photo or Video Look) | 48 | 12 |
| Video translation, Speed mode with lip-sync | 6 | 100 |
| Video translation, Precision mode | 10 | 60 |
| Video Agent, standard mode | 80 | 7 |
| Video Agent, Seedance mode | 240 | 2 |
The minutes column is our arithmetic (600 divided by the rate, rounded down). HeyGen notes that usage can vary by model, duration and generation type, and shows the credit cost in the product before you generate.
What this means for the bill: a Creator subscriber making Avatar IV videos from a filmed avatar gets about 19 minutes a month. The same plan spent on Avatar III gives 150 minutes. On Creator's monthly price, one minute of Avatar IV Video Look works out to about $1.50 and one minute of Avatar III Video Look to about $0.19 (our arithmetic: $29 / 600 credits x the rate).
Free users do not get credits at all. They get a video quota, which HeyGen's help center describes as 1 to 3 free videos depending on region.
HeyGen Pro tiers: what each credit level costs
All Pro tiers share the same features; only the monthly credits change. HeyGen prints eleven tiers:
| Credits a month | Monthly billing | Yearly billing (per month) | Billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $49 | $41 | $488 |
| 1,500 | $74 | $62 | $738 |
| 2,000 | $99 | $82 | $988 |
| 3,000 | $149 | $124 | $1,488 |
| 5,000 | $240 | $200 | $2,400 |
| 7,500 | $360 | $300 | $3,600 |
| 10,000 | $460 | $384 | $4,612 |
| 20,000 | $900 | $752 | $9,018 |
| 50,000 | $2,250 | $1,877 | $22,518 |
| 100,000 | $4,300 | $3,586 | $43,030 |
Volume brings the unit price down, but slowly. On monthly billing a credit costs $0.049 at the entry tier and $0.043 at the top tier; on yearly billing the top tier works out to about $0.036 a credit (our arithmetic on the printed prices).
Pro has one rule worth knowing before you buy: it sells no one-time credit packs. If you run short mid-month, you upgrade to a higher tier and pay the price difference right away, per HeyGen's help center.
HeyGen Creator vs Pro: which one?
Pick Creator if you publish short videos on your own and 600 credits cover your month. It includes 1080p export, no HeyGen branding, a custom video avatar with your own voice, and 175+ languages and dialects. If the voice matters more than the face, our AI voice cloning tools list prices voice-only options.
Move to Pro when you need 4K export, Avatar V without Creator's usage limit, the Seedance and Veo video models, or more credits, since Creator cannot buy extra credits. Pro's entry tier adds 400 credits and those features for a small monthly step up from Creator.
Neither plan is built for teams. Creator and Pro both list 1 user seat, and HeyGen's guide says Pro is "not meant for small / large teams".
How much does HeyGen Business cost for a team?
Business costs $149 a month for the first seat and $20 per extra seat a month, with 1,500 credits shared by everyone. Adding seats does not add credits, per HeyGen's plans guide.
| Team | Monthly billing | A year on monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| 1 person | $149 | $1,788 |
| 3 people | $189 | $2,268 |
| 5 people | $229 | $2,748 |
| 10 people | $329 | $3,948 |
Our arithmetic: $149 + $20 for each person after the first. On yearly billing the plan itself is $1,428 billed yearly, and seats are listed at the same per-seat price.
The sales-team scenario: 3 reps each send one 1-minute Avatar IV video a week, about 12 minutes a month. At 31 credits a minute that is 372 credits, a quarter of the shared 1,500, for $189 a month. The pool runs out around 48 minutes of Avatar IV Video Look a month, after which Business can buy credits at $0.05 each, in blocks of 100 for $5.
Business also adds what a company buyer usually needs: videos up to 60 minutes, SAML/SSO, a brand kit, SCORM export and LMS integrations for training teams, and 5 custom video avatars. Training teams can compare where those videos land in our LMS platforms ranking, and sales leaders can weigh avatar videos against our sales training software picks.
What does a heavy user pay?
Take one person making 100 minutes of Avatar IV Video Look a month, which needs 3,100 credits. The 3,000-credit Pro tier falls just short, so the cheapest Pro option is the 5,000-credit tier at $240 a month, or $2,400 billed yearly.
Business can come in under that. Its 1,500 credits plus 1,600 bought at $0.05 add $80, so $229 a month on monthly billing (our arithmetic). On yearly billing the two land close: $2,400 for Pro against $1,428 plus twelve months of top-ups, $2,388. Pro's spare 1,900 credits roll over, though, so a heavy user whose volume grows is better served by Pro.
Hidden costs to budget for
- Integrations use separate API credits. HeyGen says plan credits cannot be used to generate videos through HubSpot, Clay, Zapier, Make or n8n; those need pay-as-you-go API credits, priced per minute in its API pricing guide. An Avatar IV Digital Twin minute costs $4.83 there, and an Avatar III Digital Twin minute $0.60.
- Extra seats: $20 per seat a month on Business, with no extra credits.
- Extra avatars: additional custom video avatars are an add-on on paid plans, and HeyGen says slot pricing varies by region and account creation date.
- Expressive motion: Custom Expressive Motion adds 40 credits per minute on top of the Avatar IV cost.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, our software directory, tracks 158 AI video generation tools as of 28 October 2026, and 71% of them are free, freemium or open source. Among the 46 that publish a paid price, the median cheapest paid plan is $19.95 a month, so HeyGen's Creator plan sits above the typical entry price (Toolradar AI video ranking, HeyGen on Toolradar).
Is HeyGen free?
Yes, with tight limits that make it a test drive rather than a working plan. The Free plan costs $0 with no credit card and allows 3 watermarked videos a month of up to 1 minute each, Avatar IV and Video Agent access, one custom video avatar and 500+ ready-made presenters. Our free AI video generators list covers other free options, and our guide to making AI YouTube videos shows where an avatar fits in a channel workflow.
Is HeyGen cheaper than Synthesia?
At the entry level, no. Synthesia's pricing page lists Starter at $19 a month billed monthly or $168 billed yearly with 1,250 credits, and Pro at $89 monthly or $708 yearly with 6,000 credits. Its free Basic plan includes 10 minutes of Studio video creation or dubbing. Synthesia estimates its Starter credits at up to about 12 minutes of video a month.
The two credit systems are not interchangeable, so compare minutes on the engine you will use rather than credits. HeyGen's Creator buys about 19 minutes of Avatar IV Video Look, or far more on Avatar III. For a ranked view of both and their rivals, see our AI avatar generators ranking.
How we checked these prices
We read HeyGen's pricing page, its pricing FAQ, its plan data and its help-center guides on credits and API pricing on 28 October 2026, plus Synthesia's pricing page the same day. Every total and per-minute figure is our arithmetic on those printed prices and credit rates. FAQ
How much does HeyGen cost in 2026?
HeyGen costs $0 on Free, $29 a month on Creator ($24 a month billed yearly), from $49 a month on Pro, and $149 a month on Business plus $20 per extra seat. Enterprise is quoted. Prices verified on heygen.com in October 2026.
How many minutes of video do HeyGen credits give?
It depends on the engine. One minute costs 4 credits on Avatar III Video Look, 31 on Avatar IV Video Look, 48 on Avatar V and 80 on Video Agent standard mode, so Creator's 600 credits range from 7 to 150 minutes.
Can I buy extra credits on HeyGen?
Only on Business, at $0.05 a credit in blocks of 100. Creator users must upgrade to Pro, and Pro users move to a higher Pro tier.
Do HeyGen credits roll over?
Yes. Monthly subscribers keep unused credits for one more month; annual subscribers keep them until renewal. Credits are lost if you cancel and fall back to Free.
Does HeyGen charge for API use?
Yes, separately. API credits are pay-as-you-go and can be bought on any account, including Free, priced per minute by engine; plan credits do not cover API or Zapier, Make, HubSpot, Clay or n8n video generation.
Which HeyGen plan is best for a team?
Business, because Creator and Pro have 1 user seat each. A 3-person team pays $189 a month on monthly billing and shares 1,500 credits.
Bottom line
HeyGen's sticker prices are simple; its credits are not. Before you pick a plan, decide which avatar engine you will use, multiply your monthly minutes by its credit rate, and pick the cheapest plan that covers it. For one person that is usually Creator on yearly billing; for a team it is Business, with paid extra seats; for heavy use, compare a Pro tier with Business plus top-ups.
