Cheaper Salesforce Alternatives in 2026: What 10 Seats Cost

Trusted by790,000+ Techpresso subscribers·Editorial policy·How we make money

Salesforce's Starter Suite lists at $25 per user a month, which comes to $3,000 a year for 10 seats on annual billing. Five tools below cost less per seat on that same annual basis, from $9 to $23 a month, and each one leaves out something Starter Suite offers. The price gap is real. The missing features decide which one fits.

Toolradar data: Toolradar's CRM ranking, updated October 20, 2026, analyzes 508 CRM tools. Five of the ten tools on its list have a free plan. Prices below are each vendor's list prices as of October 25, 2026.

10 seats, one year, billed annually

Every row uses the same yardstick: 10 seats for 12 months, set against Starter Suite's $3,000 annual total. The monthly column matters because a tool that wins on annual billing can lose on monthly billing.

What Starter Suite costs and leaves out

As of October 25, 2026, Salesforce's sales pricing page lists Free Suite at $0 per user a month, Starter Suite at $25 per user a month with the card text "(Billed monthly or annually)", and Pro Suite at $100 per user a month with "(Billed annually)". Core is $195, Advanced $395 and Max $550, each also billed annually. Those are list prices, and the page prints no discount beside them.

The same page's feature grid shows where Starter Suite stops. Quotes, Contracts, Orders, Chatter, Salesforce Meetings, Person Accounts and Sales Console apps appear on Pro Suite and not on Starter Suite. Advanced Forecast & Pipeline Management starts one step higher, on Core at $195. A team that needs quote or contract records is not really comparing Starter Suite with these five tools. It is comparing Pro Suite, which runs $12,000 a year for 10 seats billed annually.

Starter Suite does fit a particular team. It includes Activity Capture and the Salesforce mobile app, and it keeps the Salesforce account, contact, lead and opportunity records. A team that wants that record system and does not need quotes or contracts gets it at the list price above. The five picks below trade some of that ecosystem for a lower bill.

Salesforce has renamed its tiers. The May 9, 2024 capture lists a Professional Edition card at $80 per user a month, with annual billing shown in the card text. The January 11, 2025 capture lists Pro Suite at $100. The February 16, 2026 capture lists Enterprise at $175 and Unlimited at $350. The live page now lists Core at $195 and Advanced at $395, tier names the February capture did not show. Starter Suite kept the same price across all three captures, so the changes sit in the higher tiers.

What one Hacker News commenter said about Salesforce pricing

A Hacker News commenter answered a $15-$30 per-user price in a comment dated October 14, 2024 with the line "Somebody hasn't experienced Salesforce pricing." One comment is an anecdote. It does show how buyers read a per-seat figure against Salesforce's own list.

5 tools compared, ranked by fit for a 10-seat sales team

The order follows fit for a 10-seat team that tracks contacts and deals and runs email and calls. Each pick costs less than Starter Suite on annual billing, and each section names a gap from the vendor's pricing page.

1

Freshsales Growth

Freshsales Growth costs $9 per user a month billed annually, the lowest figure in the table above. Freshworks' CRM pricing page, as of October 25, 2026, describes the tier as "For startups and SMBs" and lists chat, email and phone, email templates, custom fields and basic workflows. For 10 seats that is $1,080 a year, which is $1,920 less than Starter Suite on the same annual basis.

The gap sits in the next tier. Pro, at $39 per user a month billed annually, adds contact scoring, deal insights, custom sales activities, territory management and sales sequences. Growth's card does not list territory management or sales sequences. Starter Suite's grid does not list territory management either, so that gap is not a Starter gap. Growth fits a team that wants the lowest annual bill and does not run multi-step outreach.

2

Pipedrive Lite

Pipedrive Lite costs $14 per seat a month billed annually, which is $1,680 for 10 seats a year. The Pipedrive pricing page, as of October 25, 2026, sets its billing switch to "Billed annually (Save up to 42%)," which is the vendor's own saving claim. Lite lists lead, calendar and pipeline management, AI-powered report creation, 500+ integrations and meeting intelligence, which the page labels New.

The gap is communication. The Growth tier at $39 adds Gmail, Outlook or company email sync, bulk email, and open and link tracking, and the page presents those as additions to Lite. Growth costs $468 per seat a year on the same basis. A team that sends most of its mail from its own inbox and needs bulk sends would be paying for Growth, not Lite. Pipedrive Lite fits a deal-tracking team that works from its own mail client and wants meeting notes inside the CRM.

3

monday CRM Standard

monday CRM Standard costs $17 per seat a month billed yearly. The monday CRM pricing page, as of October 25, 2026, shows $25 for the same tier billed monthly. That monthly figure matches Starter Suite's, so the saving depends on annual billing. At 10 seats the annual total is $2,040 a year.

The card lists 3 workspaces, 5 custom dashboards, 10,000 active contacts and deals, AI credits included in the plan, and AI agents for outreach, lead sourcing and meeting prep. The monday CRM pricing page, as of October 25, 2026, opens its Standard tagline with "Automate sales processes," the line Basic's card does not carry. Standard fits a team that wants automation and AI features and stays under 10,000 active contacts and deals.

4

monday CRM Basic

monday CRM Basic costs $12 per seat a month billed yearly and $18 billed monthly, on the same monday CRM pricing page as of October 25, 2026. For 10 seats that is $1,440 a year. On monthly billing, Basic at $18 sits below Starter Suite's monthly price.

The card caps the plan at 1 workspace, 1 custom dashboard, 1,000 active contacts and deals, and 5 columns per board. The page's "Automate sales processes" line belongs to Standard, so Basic's card does not carry sales-process automation. Basic fits a small team under 1,000 active contacts and deals that does not need automated sales steps.

5

Copper Basic

Copper Basic costs $23 per seat a month paid annually and $29 per seat a month on monthly payments, per the Copper pricing page, as of October 25, 2026. The page notes "Prices are in USD and don't include taxes and fees where applicable." At 10 seats that is $2,760 a year, which is $240 less than Starter Suite on annual billing. That is the smallest annual gap in the table. On monthly billing Copper's $29 is above Starter Suite's monthly price, so the saving depends on annual billing.

The Basic card lists a 2,500 contact limit, task automation, pipelines, project management and contact enrichment. It does not list workflow automation, bulk email, reporting or integrations, which start with Professional at $59 per seat a month billed annually. Copper Basic fits a team of about 10 that stays under 2,500 contacts and does not need reports pulled from the CRM.

Frequently asked questions

Is Salesforce Starter Suite more expensive than these five on annual billing?

Yes. On annual billing the five picks total $1,080 to $2,760 a year for 10 seats, against Starter Suite's $3,000. The gap is widest for Freshsales Growth and narrowest for Copper Basic, so a team that values Salesforce's record system more than the bill will weigh the gap column first.

Which of these costs less than Starter Suite on monthly billing?

Starter Suite's monthly price is the baseline at $25 per user. monday CRM Basic at $18 and Freshsales Growth at $11 are below it. monday CRM Standard matches it at $25, and Copper Basic is above it at $29.

What does Starter Suite lack that Pro Suite has?

Per the feature grid on the Salesforce pricing page, as of October 25, 2026, Quotes, Contracts, Orders, Chatter, Salesforce Meetings, Person Accounts and Sales Console apps sit on Pro Suite and not on Starter Suite. Pro Suite is $100 per user a month billed annually, so a team of 10 that needs those records pays $9,000 more a year than on Starter Suite.

Is there a free route for a very small team?

Salesforce's Free Suite is $0 per user a month, and its grid lists 10GB of data storage per org. HubSpot's sales pricing page, as of October 25, 2026, lists its free tier as "Free for up to 2 users." That route suits a team of two, not a team of 10.

Where this leaves a 10-seat team

For 10 seats on annual billing, all five rows come in below the Starter Suite total, so the decision turns on the gap column rather than the price column. A team that needs Salesforce's quotes or contracts is comparing against Pro Suite, not against these picks.
