Best Free AI Anime Generators in 2026

Trusted by780,000+ Techpresso subscribers·Editorial policy·How we make money

By Dupple Team. Updated October 2026. Eight generators compared on free allowance, watermarks, commercial use and the cheapest paid plan.

Short answer: PixAI for anime-first prompts, because every user gets daily credits and its Starter plan starts at $9.99 a month. SeaArt if you want a fixed number, 130 free Stamina a day, about 21 images. Animagine XL 4.0 if you already own a capable graphics card, because it has no monthly cap at all.

Dupple data: of the eight generators below, we read each vendor's own pricing, plan and help pages on 10 October 2026. Five publish a free daily or monthly allowance, and only three state it as a number of images.

A "free plan: yes" checkmark tells you almost nothing. What matters is how many images you get before you pay, whether the output carries a watermark, and whether you can sell what you make. The table answers those three questions for each tool, using only what the vendor publishes. Where a vendor gives no figure, the table says so instead of guessing.

Methodology

We read each vendor's own pricing, plan, help and terms pages on 10 October 2026, and we quote only what they say. We did not run the tools, so the watermark column reports what each vendor publishes, not what its output looks like. We picked four anime-first tools and four general generators that handle anime prompts well enough to matter. We left out tools where the vendor's pricing could not be confirmed on its own site.

1

PixAI, the anime-first pick with daily credits

Verdict

anime and manga prompts. Our prompt-writing guide helps if your results drift.

Free allowance: every user gets daily credits, and members get extra daily credits on top. PixAI does not publish a daily figure on its plans page, so check your balance in the app before you plan a project around it.

Pricing

on its plans page, Starter is $9.99 a month or $60 a year. Plus is $29.99 a month or $180 a year. Premium is $49.99 a month or $300 a year. Billed yearly, Starter works out to $5 a month, half the monthly price.

The catch: the plans page does not say what resolution free images get, and it states no free-tier watermark rule. Membership perks also end when a membership expires, including unlimited turbo mode and image-to-video.

Commercial use: PixAI's terms say it claims no ownership or copyright in AI-generated images, and that you may freely use what you create. Content you download from other users stays under their own terms.

Verdict: the best free starting point for anime-only work. If you outgrow the daily credits, the Starter plan is the first paid step, and it costs $5 a month on the yearly plan.

2

SeaArt, the free allowance with a fixed daily count

Verdict

anime styles, when you want a daily number you can plan around.

Free allowance: 130 Stamina a day, which SeaArt says covers about 21 image creations. Stamina resets every day and does not carry over. Free accounts run two tasks at once.

Pricing

SVIP plans come in Beginner, Standard, Professional and Master tiers, each with more daily Stamina. Beginner gives 300 Stamina a day, about 50 images, and Standard gives 700, about 117. SeaArt shows the prices inside its Mall, so check them there before you subscribe.

The catch: SeaArt's trial runs three days, then charges automatically, and its FAQ says it does not refund a charge once it is processed. LoRA training is open to all users, but it is charged in Credits, not Stamina.

Commercial use: SeaArt's FAQ says you own the copyright in what you create, and that it does not prohibit commercial use. Using other people's works commercially needs their permission, and SeaArt says it takes no responsibility for that risk.

Verdict: the most predictable free allowance on this list. If you need more than the free daily count, the Beginner tier is the first step, and it is where SeaArt's own numbers jump to 300 Stamina a day.

3

Civitai, the model library with its own generator

Verdict

finding a specific anime model or LoRA, then generating with it.

Free allowance: the pricing page gives no free daily figure. It mentions daily rewards, so check the rewards inside your account.

Pricing

on its pricing page, Bronze is $10 a month for 10,000 Green Buzz. Silver is $25 a month for 25,000, and Gold is $50 a month for 50,000.

The catch: Civitai's pricing page says unrestricted content creation has moved to civitai.red. The main site is not where that work happens, so check which site fits your project before you sign up.

Commercial use: the pricing page does not state commercial rights for generated images. Check the permissions on each model page before you sell or license anything made with it.

Verdict: the right tool when the model matters more than the allowance. Its free route depends on daily rewards whose size the page does not give. If you want avatars rather than scenes, best AI avatar generators compares that category.

4

Animagine XL 4.0, free if you have a graphics card

Verdict

people who already run Stable Diffusion locally and want an anime-tuned SDXL model with no monthly cap.

Free allowance: no cap. The only limits are your own hardware and the license terms.

Pricing

$0 for the model. You pay for the graphics card and the electricity.

The catch: you need a computer that runs SDXL models well, and some setup time. The license asks you to include a copy of it, state the changes you make, and keep the notices in place. Once you have images, an upscaler can sharpen them for print.

Commercial use: the model card says the model uses the CreativeML Open RAIL++-M license, which lists commercial use as permitted, with the conditions above.

Verdict: the only option here with no monthly cap. It is worth the setup if you already own a capable graphics card and do not need a web interface.

5

Playground, for anime as one style among many

Verdict

small commercial projects where anime is one style out of several.

Free allowance: 3 monthly generations across its listed models, with up to 10 images every 3 hours.

Pricing

on its pricing page, Pro is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly, which is $144 a year. Pro Plus is $45 a month, or $36 a month billed yearly, which is $432 a year. Pro includes 150 monthly credits and Pro Plus includes 1,000.

The catch: three generations a month is a sample, not a supply. Nano Banana Pro costs four credits per generation. The pricing page states no watermark rule for free images.

Commercial use: the free plan lists a world-wide, royalty-free commercial license.

Verdict: a good place to test a commercial idea at small volume. On the yearly Pro plan, 150 standard generations cost about 8 cents each.

6

Gemini, the general model that helps you write the prompt

Verdict

refining an anime prompt in conversation before you generate it.

Free allowance: image generation and editing come with the free plan. Google publishes no daily image count for it, and it says usage limits can change without notice.

Pricing

Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month, Google AI Pro is $19.99 a month, and Google AI Ultra starts at $99.99 a month. Plus is the cheapest paid plan on this list apart from Dreamina's promotional offer, but Google does not say how many images it adds.

The catch: the subscriptions page states no watermark, resolution or commercial rights for free images. Check the terms before you publish anything made with it.

Verdict: strong for working out the prompt, weak if you need a fixed count of images. To edit a finished image afterward, see best AI photo editors.

7

Dreamina, free daily credits for images and video

Verdict

quick image and video tests in one account, across a range of styles.

Free allowance: the homepage says Dreamina gives free daily credits for images and videos. It gives no number.

Pricing

the homepage advertises 90% off to get started at $1.50 a month. The regular price is not shown there, so check the pricing inside the app before you subscribe.

The catch: the homepage leaves out the watermark, resolution and commercial terms, which matter most when you plan to sell the work. For video ideas, how to animate AI art covers the workflow.

Verdict: useful for daily tries. Do not build a project on it until you have read its terms.

8

Bing Image Creator, quick free images

Verdict

a fast free image with no setup.

Free allowance: the page lists 10 free creations in Fast mode, and it lists Standard mode as unlimited. Guest limits reset daily, and Microsoft Rewards gives free upgrades.

Pricing

the page gives no price for image creation. Microsoft Rewards upgrades cost nothing.

The catch: the page states no watermark, resolution or commercial rights. It is also a general tool, so test its anime output against your own prompts before you rely on it.

Verdict: the simplest free start on this list, and the easiest to try in a minute.

What the free tiers really give you

Free allowances look generous until you do the arithmetic. SeaArt's free Stamina covers about 21 images a day. Used every day for a month, that is roughly 630 images at no cost. Stamina does not carry over, so an unused day is lost, which makes the daily count a ceiling on what you can plan around rather than a bank of images you can save.

Playground's free plan is a different kind of trial. Three monthly generations is enough to test a prompt and not enough for a series. Its Pro plan changes the math: 150 monthly credits at $12 a month billed yearly comes to about 8 cents for each standard generation. Nano Banana Pro costs four credits, so the same plan gives fewer of those images.

On headline price, Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month is the lowest paid plan here, apart from Dreamina's promotional offer. The catch is that Google does not publish how many images it adds, so a low price tells you nothing about volume yet. PixAI's Starter works out to $5 a month billed yearly, but PixAI publishes no number of free images to compare it with.

How to choose

  • Anime only, prompt in, image out: PixAI for daily credits and published monthly and yearly prices. SeaArt if a fixed daily count matters more.
  • You need the right model first: Civitai. Pick the model, check its permissions, then generate.
  • You own a capable graphics card: Animagine XL 4.0 has no cap and a published commercial license.
  • You plan to sell the work: start with the tools that state commercial terms for free output (PixAI, SeaArt, Playground, Animagine XL 4.0). Check the others before you publish anything, and read how to make money with AI art for the business side.
  • You want to think a prompt through first: Gemini, then move the finished prompt to an anime tool. For more general options, see our guide to free AI image generators.

Common mistakes

  1. Reading "free daily credits" as a number. PixAI, Civitai, Dreamina and Gemini publish no figure for their free allowance. Test your balance for a day before you plan a project.
  2. Assuming free images carry no watermark. None of the vendor pages we read states a free-tier watermark rule. Check the first output you make.
  3. Selling art before reading the terms. SeaArt puts the risk of commercial use of others' works on you. Civitai's pricing page is silent on commercial rights, so read each model's permissions. Our guide to selling AI art covers the wider rules.
  4. Missing SeaArt's trial rule. The trial charges after three days, and SeaArt says it does not refund a charge once it is processed.
  5. Expecting the main Civitai site to host everything. Its pricing page says unrestricted creation has moved to civitai.red.
  6. Using a three-generation plan for a series. Playground's free plan suits a single test, not a set of images for one client.

FAQ

What is the best free AI anime generator in 2026?

PixAI, for anime-first prompts. Every user gets daily credits, and its paid Starter plan starts at $9.99 a month. If you want a fixed daily count, SeaArt gives 130 Stamina a day, and its FAQ spells out what that buys.

How many free images does SeaArt give you?

SeaArt says free users get a daily Stamina allowance that covers about 21 image creations. Stamina resets every day and does not carry over. Free accounts run two tasks at a time.

Can I sell images made with a free AI anime generator?

It depends on the tool. SeaArt says it does not prohibit commercial use of what you create. PixAI says it claims no copyright in AI-generated images. Playground's free plan lists a royalty-free commercial license, and Animagine XL 4.0 permits commercial use under its license. Civitai, Gemini, Dreamina and Bing do not state it on the pages we read.

Is there a free AI anime generator with no monthly limit?

Animagine XL 4.0. You run it on your own graphics card, so the only limits are your hardware and the license terms.

Does PixAI cost money?

PixAI has a free plan with daily credits. Its paid plans start with Starter, at $60 a year billed yearly ($5 a month), and add extra daily credits and unlimited turbo mode for members.

Is Gemini free for anime images?

Image generation and editing are part of Google's free plan. Google publishes no daily image count for it, and it says usage limits can change without notice.

How much does Playground Pro cost?

Pro is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly for $144 a year. It includes 150 monthly credits, so the yearly plan works out to about 8 cents for each standard generation.

Bottom line

For anime prompts, PixAI is the best free start, and SeaArt is the one to pick when you want a daily number you can plan around. If you already own a capable graphics card, Animagine XL 4.0 removes the monthly cap entirely. Before you sell anything you make, read the commercial terms, because only four of the eight tools state a position on them for free output.
