  • Updated: November 3, 2026
  • Prices as of: November 2026
  • 4 plans compared: Free, Basic, Pro, Enterprise
  • Free (best for: Non-commercial projects and trying Framer): $0
  • Basic (best for: Students, freelancers, small studios): $10/mo per site
  • Pro (best for: Startups and agencies running a full marketing site): $30/mo per site
  • Enterprise (best for: Teams needing SSO, SCIM and an uptime guarantee): Custom

Framer costs $0 on the Free plan, $10 a month for Basic and $30 a month for Pro, per site, on yearly billing, and Enterprise is priced on request. Each extra editor adds $20 a month, content editors $10, and viewers are free. Prices verified on framer.com in October 2026.

Picture a four-person team moving its marketing site to Framer. The sticker says $30, but the bill comes to three times that once three teammates get edit access, and that gap is what most Framer pricing guides skip. My view: Basic is a bargain for a solo portfolio, Pro is fair for one company site, and agencies need to price editors and add-ons before they quote a client.

The key fact sits in the first column: Framer plans are bought per site, not per account. One person running three client sites pays for three plans, and every editor seat comes on top.

Dupple data: Toolradar, our software directory, tracks 209 website builders as of October 2026, and the median cheapest paid plan among the 77 that publish a price is $14 a month. Framer's Basic plan comes in below that median, while Pro costs about twice it.

Is Framer free?

Yes, with limits that rule it out for a business site. The Free plan runs on a Framer subdomain, caps bandwidth at 1 GB a month, and gives 500 AI credits to try the agents once, not monthly. Framer itself calls it "ideal for non-commercial use".

To connect your own domain, you need a paid plan. The Free plan is still generous for design work: each project gets 10 CMS collections, up to 1,000 pages, 5 MB file uploads and one locale, and a workspace with no subscription can have up to three editors. That makes it a solid sandbox for building a site before you pay, then upgrading only the site you launch.

If you are comparing zero-cost options, our best free website builders guide covers the ones that allow a custom domain or commercial use.

Framer Basic vs Pro: which one do I need?

Pick Basic if your site is a portfolio or a small brochure site that will stay under 30 pages. Basic includes a free custom domain on yearly billing, built-in SEO, 2 CMS collections with 1,000 items and 50 GB of bandwidth. It is cheap because it is fixed: you cannot buy extra pages, collections or bandwidth on Basic.

Pick Pro when the site is a company's main marketing site. Pro gives 150 pages, 10 collections, 2,500 CMS items and 100 GB of bandwidth, and every one of those limits can grow with paid add-ons. It also adds site redirects, a staging environment, branching with previews, 90 days of analytics history instead of 30, and hosting from 300+ locations instead of 20.

For a migration, redirects alone settle the choice. If you are migrating an existing site, you need redirects to keep your search rankings, and only Pro has them. A blog that will pass 1,000 posts also forces Pro, since Basic's CMS cap is fixed.

Both plans allow up to 10 people with edit access. Teams that need more go to Enterprise, which has unlimited editors.

How much do extra editors cost in Framer?

Framer has three paid roles beyond the free workspace owner:

How much do extra editors cost in Framer?: Framer Pricing 2026: Free, Basic $10, Pro $30 and the Real Team Cost. Last updated November 2026.
Role What they can do Price on Basic and Pro
Workspace owner Manages editors, projects and billing Free
Viewer Views pages and adds comments Free
Content editor Updates CMS, localization and on-page text $10 per editor per month
Additional editor Designs, edits content and publishes $20 per editor per month

Source: Framer pricing, read 28 October 2026.

Seats are where the real money goes. Framer charges for a new editor within 24 hours of adding them, so a contractor you add for a week still shows up on the bill. Give writers and marketers content-editor seats instead of full editor seats, since they rarely need to touch the layout, and you halve their cost.

Agencies get one break: Framer's Pro Experts receive free editor access to client projects. If you are a Framer Pro Expert building a client's site, you do not use up one of the client's paid editor seats.

Real cost: three Framer scenarios

Every scenario below uses the yearly-billing rates above, and the totals are our arithmetic.

Real cost: three Framer scenarios: Framer Pricing 2026: Free, Basic $10, Pro $30 and the Real Team Cost. Last updated November 2026.
Scenario Setup Monthly cost Yearly cost
Solo freelancer 1 Basic site, owner only $10 $120
Startup marketing site 1 Pro site, owner + 3 additional editors $30 + 3 x $20 = $90 $1,080
Same startup, leaner seats 1 Pro site, owner + 1 editor + 2 content editors $30 + $20 + 2 x $10 = $70 $840
Agency, 3 client sites 3 Pro sites + 2 additional editors 3 x $30 + 2 x $20 = $130 $1,560

The startup row is the four-person team from the top of this page. Its site plan is a third of the bill, and editor seats are the other two thirds. Switching two of those seats to content editors saves $240 a year with no loss for people who only update copy and blog posts.

The agency row shows how per-site pricing scales. Each new client site adds a full Pro plan, so an agency hosting ten client sites on Pro pays for ten plans before a single seat. That is why many agencies bill the site plan straight to the client.

What do Framer add-ons cost?

Pro's limits stretch with add-ons, billed monthly on top of the plan:

What do Framer add-ons cost?: Framer Pricing 2026: Free, Basic $10, Pro $30 and the Real Team Cost. Last updated November 2026.
Add-on Price Maximum on Pro
Extra pages $20 per 100 pages 700 pages
Extra CMS collections $40 per 10 collections 40 collections
Extra CMS items $20 per 10,000 items 40,000 items
Extra bandwidth $40 per 100 GB 2 TB
Translation locales $20 per locale 20 locales
Convert (A/B testing, funnels, triggers) $50 per 500,000 events 1.5M events
Advanced hosting (rewrites, firewall rules, custom headers) $200 6 rewrites

Source: Framer pricing, page and FAQ, read 28 October 2026.

Localization is the add-on that moves the bill most for a site with an international audience. A Pro site in English plus two translated languages costs $30 + 2 x $20 = $70 a month (our arithmetic), more than double the base plan. Basic also offers localization as an add-on, so a small bilingual site does not have to move to Pro.

The Convert add-on counts every page view, tracked click and tracked form submission as an event. A site with heavy traffic can burn through 500,000 events faster than its owners expect, so check your monthly page views before you switch on A/B tests.

Bandwidth is the one limit with grace: Framer lets you exceed it for one month and emails you before asking you to upgrade. Page and CMS limits block you in the editor instead.

What are Framer AI credits?

AI credits pay for Framer's agents, AI localization and other AI features, and they are shared across the whole workspace and its editors. Basic includes 1,000 credits a month and Pro 3,000, and the plan selector lets you pick higher tiers: up to 15,000 a month on Basic and up to 100,000 on Pro. Higher credit tiers cost more, and Framer shows the price for each tier in the plan selector.

New paid sites get double credits in their first month. Pro Experts use 50% fewer agent credits per prompt. Framer's MCP server, which connects outside AI tools to your project, is free on every plan while it is in preview.

If AI site generation is the main reason you are looking at Framer, compare it with the tools in our best AI website builders guide first. Credits are a running cost, and heavy agent use may push you to a higher tier.

How much does Framer cost per month vs per year?

The prices on this page are Framer's yearly-billing rates: the pricing page opens on yearly billing and says all prices are shown monthly and billed on the cycle you pick at checkout. Framer shows the monthly-billing rate when you switch the toggle on its pricing page, so check the current monthly price on Framer's site before you commit.

Framer lists a complimentary custom domain as included on yearly billing for Basic and Pro. If you already own your domain, that perk matters less.

Is Framer cheaper than Webflow?

At the entry level, yes. Framer Basic costs $10 a month per site on yearly billing, against $15 for Webflow's Basic site plan, and Webflow Basic has no CMS. Webflow's Premium site plan, which adds the CMS, costs $25 a month billed yearly, a little under Framer Pro, and Webflow bills extra workspace seats separately, so a team pays on both sides.

The answer depends on seats and CMS size more than the headline price. Our Webflow pricing page breaks down Webflow's plans and seats in full, and our Webflow review covers the product itself.

Hidden costs and weaknesses

  • Per-site pricing. Every site needs its own plan, which adds up fast for agencies and companies with several microsites.
  • Editor seats. Each full editor adds $20 a month, often more than the site plan itself for a team.
  • Basic is fixed. No extra pages, collections or bandwidth on Basic: outgrow 30 pages and you move to Pro.
  • Free is non-commercial. No custom domain and 1 GB of bandwidth make it a prototyping plan, not a launch plan.
  • Add-ons stack. Locales, events and bandwidth are billed monthly on top of Pro and can double the bill.
  • Sales tax extra. Framer adds applicable tax at checkout.

FAQ

How much does Framer cost in 2026?

Framer has a Free plan, Basic at $10 a month per site and Pro at $30 a month per site on yearly billing, plus custom-priced Enterprise. Extra editors cost $20 a month each and content editors $10. Prices verified on framer.com in October 2026.

Is Framer free for a business website?

Not really. The Free plan runs on a Framer domain with 1 GB of bandwidth, and Framer describes it as ideal for non-commercial use. A business site with its own domain needs Basic or Pro.

How much does Framer cost for a team of four?

On one Pro site with the owner plus three full editors, a team pays $90 a month on yearly billing, or $1,080 a year (our arithmetic). Giving two of those people content-editor seats instead brings it to $70 a month.

Does Framer charge per site or per account?

Per site. Each site needs its own Basic or Pro plan, and editor seats are billed on top. Agencies with several client sites pay one plan per site.

What happens if I go over a Framer limit?

For bandwidth, Framer lets you exceed the limit for one month and emails you to upgrade. For other limits, such as pages or CMS items, Framer asks you to upgrade in the editor, or on Pro you can buy add-ons.

Can a team use Framer's Free plan?

Yes, for building and testing. A workspace with no paid subscription supports up to three editors working together, but the site stays on a Framer domain until you buy Basic or Pro for it.

Start on Basic for a personal site, move to Pro the day you need redirects or more than 30 pages, and give writers content-editor seats to keep the team bill down. Start the Dupple X trial →
