What Is Finale Inventory?
Finale Inventory is the cloud-based inventory management system (IMS) for multi-channel e-commerce sellers and warehouses. The product handles stock tracking across channels, order management, purchase orders, and integrations with Shopify, Amazon, eBay, WooCommerce, and dozens of marketplaces and accounting platforms.
The pitch is mid-market inventory management without enterprise complexity. Sellers running 1,000-100,000 SKUs across 3-10 channels need real inventory software but cannot justify NetSuite. Finale fills the gap at $99-$799/month with depth that covers most multi-channel operations.
The product has been refining its workflow for over a decade and serves thousands of e-commerce sellers, distributors, and small manufacturers. Specific industry coverage includes apparel, electronics, books, food and beverage, and industrial supplies.

Set up your product catalog with SKUs, variants, costs, prices, and barcodes. Import existing data from spreadsheets or other systems. Track inventory by location, lot, expiry date, or serial number depending on your needs.
Connect sales channels: Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Amazon Seller Central, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, Etsy, and more. Stock levels sync automatically across channels. When an order ships from Amazon, the SKU count decreases in Shopify so you do not oversell.
Order workflow handles order import, pick lists, packing slips, shipping labels (through ShipStation integration), and fulfillment confirmation. Customizable picking workflows fit different warehouse layouts: zone picking, batch picking, single-order picking.
Purchasing tracks reorder points and lead times per supplier. The system suggests when to reorder based on velocity and lead time, then generates purchase orders for review. When inventory arrives, receive against the PO to update stock and accounts.
Accounting integration syncs with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Xero, NetSuite, and others. Sales, purchases, and inventory adjustments flow to accounting without double-entry.
Finale Inventory Pricing in 2026
Bronze: $99/month. 720 orders/month, 1 user, basic features.
Silver: $275/month. 3,600 orders, 3 users, advanced features.
Gold: $499/month. 11,000 orders, 6 users.
Platinum: $799/month. Unlimited orders, unlimited users, all features.
Compared to NetSuite (typical $1,500+/month for similar inventory features) or DEAR Systems (now Cin7 Core, similar pricing to Finale), Finale is competitive. Compared to spreadsheets or Shopify's native inventory, Finale is a significant upgrade for multi-channel sellers.
See Finale Plans See plans →Where Finale Inventory Wins
- Multi-channel inventory sync: stock levels accurate across Shopify, Amazon, eBay, and more.
- Pricing transparency: tier-based pricing without sales call.
- Mature platform: 13+ years of development, stable features.
- QuickBooks integration: deep two-way sync.
- Lot and serial tracking: regulated products (food, pharma) handled correctly.
Where It Falls Short
- UI is functional, not modern: works well but visually behind newer competitors.
- Complex setup for advanced features: lot tracking, multi-warehouse, and custom workflows take time to configure.
- Reports require effort: built-in reports cover basics; advanced analytics need exports.
- Limited manufacturing depth: works for assemblies but full MRP needs specialized tools.

Cin7 Core (formerly DEAR) is the closest direct competitor. Stronger UI, similar pricing.
Skubana targets enterprise-scale e-commerce with deeper analytics. More expensive.
Inflow Inventory targets desktop-first inventory with cloud sync. Cheaper for very small operations.
NetSuite is the enterprise alternative with full ERP capability. Much more expensive, much more powerful.
Who Should Use Finale Inventory
Multi-channel e-commerce sellers (3+ channels): where channel-level inventory sync matters.
SMB warehouses and distributors: 500-10,000 SKUs with order velocity beyond manual tracking.
Small manufacturers with simple BOMs: assemblies and kits handled, full MRP not.
Skip it if: you sell only on Shopify with under 200 SKUs (Shopify native inventory works), you need full manufacturing planning (use specialized MRP), or you operate at enterprise scale (NetSuite fits better).
How Finale Inventory works
Finale Inventory, now branded Descartes Finale following the acquisition by the Descartes Systems Group, is cloud inventory and order management software aimed at higher-volume ecommerce sellers and multi-warehouse operations. It sits between your sales channels and your fulfilment as the stock system of record: it tracks quantity on hand down to the bin, centralises orders from DTC and B2B channels, and pushes updated stock levels back out to every marketplace so you stop overselling. Around that core it adds demand forecasting, purchasing and replenishment, kitting and bundling, serial and lot tracking, and inventory valuation that feeds accounting.
Setup starts with connections. You link sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Walmart, TikTok Shop, Etsy, Faire, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento and others), a shipping app such as ShipStation or ShippingEasy, and accounting through QuickBooks Online or Xero. Then you model your physical operation inside Finale: warehouses, sublocations, aisle, shelf and bin labels, suppliers and reorder rules. Once that is in place, orders flow in and decrement stock in real time across every connected system.
Day-to-day warehouse work happens on a mobile barcode app covering receiving, order picking (including wave and batch picking), stock transfers and cycle counts, with label printing for shelves and bins. Amazon FBA and AWD inventory is synced and reconciled alongside your own stock. Reporting can be pushed out to Power BI, Looker Studio or Google Drive. EDI and order routing are handled through partners such as SPS Commerce, Crstl, Pipe17, Order Desk and Flxpoint rather than being built in natively.
Where Finale Inventory wins
- A deep, ecommerce-specific integration list. More than 50 connectors span marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, Faire, Temu, Newegg, Wayfair), shopping carts, POS systems (Square, Clover, Lightspeed, Shopify POS), shipping apps and EDI partners.
- Real warehouse depth for a cloud product. Bin-level visibility, wave and batch picking, stock transfers, cycle counts, custom label printing, and serial number and lot ID tracking with expiration dates are all part of the feature set.
- It scales to serious volume. The vendor states support for up to 300 users, 1.5 million orders per month and 1.5 million products.
- Amazon FBA and AWD syncing and reconciliation is treated as a first-class feature, which matters a lot if you run mixed FBA and FBM fulfilment.
- Month-to-month contracts with no long-term commitment (annual is optional), and onboarding plus support are stated as included in the plan.
Where it falls short
- Entry price is $499 per month with no published tiers. Everything above that is quote-based on users, integrations, order volume and add-ons, which effectively prices small sellers out.
- No free trial is offered on the pricing page, and setup fees "may be applicable depending on complexity", so you have to sit through a consultation just to get a number.
- The Barcode and WMS module is a paid add-on rather than part of the base plan, meaning the warehouse scanning capability that most differentiates the product costs extra.
- The mobile scanning app is Android only. Finale's own support documentation states it will not run on iOS, so a warehouse standardised on iPhones or iPads has to buy Android hardware.
- Accounting and manufacturing coverage is narrow. Integration is limited to QuickBooks Online and Xero (plus partners such as A2X), there is no native manufacturing or MRP module, and EDI depends on third-party partners.
Who should use Finale Inventory
Finale Inventory suits growing multichannel ecommerce and wholesale sellers doing genuine volume across several warehouses, particularly those who need bin-level accuracy and barcode-driven picking and who can absorb $499 or more per month plus the WMS add-on. If you are overselling across Amazon, Shopify and a marketplace or two, running mixed FBA and FBM, and your warehouse team is already scanning or should be, this is the kind of system that pays for itself.
It is not a fit for early-stage stores or single-location sellers, where the entry price and the consultation-led buying process are out of proportion to the problem. It is also the wrong pick for warehouse teams standardised on iOS, given the Android-only scanning app, and for manufacturers who need true MRP rather than kitting and bundling.
