Best Free AI Room Design Tools in 2026: 8 Free Plans Compared
Short answer: Homestyler gives the most free output, with unlimited 1K renders on its Basic plan. Spacely AI is the only free plan here that says its results are watermark-free. Remodel AI gives three free designs, and Krea AI renews 100 units every day. Free means something different in each tool, so the limits decide the pick more than the feature lists do.
Most room design tools now have a free tier, but the tiers do very different jobs. Some give you a fixed handful of designs, some give a daily allowance, and some give unlimited low-resolution 3D layouts. Dupple data: of the 11 room design tools whose pricing we read on October 10, 2026, 8 offer a free plan or free credits, and only Krea renews its free allowance every day.
Every allowance and price below was verified on each vendor's own site on October 10, 2026. We produced no renders and judged no output quality. This page covers what each free plan lets you keep, not how the pictures look.

What counts as a free room design tool
A free AI room design tool lets you restyle a room photo or lay out a floor plan at no cost. The free tier usually caps renders, resolution, projects or downloads, and that cap is what separates one tool from another.
Methodology: how we checked
- We read each vendor's pricing information on October 10, 2026, and wrote down the free allowance, the watermark rule, the download rule and the cheapest paid step.
- We ranked by the free output you can keep: large or unlimited allowances first, then fixed allowances, then planning tools with limited exports.
- Prices are shown in dollars as each vendor displays them. Homestyler and GenRoom show a dollar sign without naming the currency, and we flag that where it matters.
- Where a vendor does not state a limit, we write "not stated" and do not guess.

Homestyler: unlimited 1K renders for free
Homestyler's Basic plan is free and includes unlimited 1K renders and unlimited projects. That is the largest free output on this list, and it covers layout work as well: the free plan includes three 3D model uploads and three 2D texture uploads. Higher resolutions use Homestyler Coins, not dollars. A 2K render costs 9 Coins and a 4K render costs 49.
Homestyler does not say whether free 1K renders carry a watermark. It lists watermark removal only as a Pro+ feature. Pro+ starts at $6.80 a month and includes 75 renders each of 2K and 4K. Team plans are $19.60 per seat per month. Homestyler does not name the currency.
free 3D layouts and early visual tests before you buy furniture. Watch out: the free output is 1K. Every 4K render costs Coins, so a few large renders can run through the balance quickly.
Krea AI: 100 units a day, but built for images
Krea's free plan gives 100 units a day, refreshed daily, and upscaling up to 2K. It is the only free allowance on this list that resets every day, so it suits a run of quick experiments. Krea is a general image tool, though, not a room planner. For other free AI tools across jobs, see best free AI apps.
The free feature list includes a commercial license, but the FAQ names only the paid plans as including one. Check the terms before you use a free render for a client. The Pro plan is $21 a month, struck through from $35, with 20,000 units a month. Krea does not say whether that price is billed monthly or yearly.
daily experiments on a style or a material before you spend a credit on a room. Watch out: units are not images. Krea's per-model daily limits differ, so one allowance does not map to one render.
Spacely AI: the only free plan that says watermark-free
Spacely AI describes itself as an interior design and room rendering tool that turns sketches, 3D models or room photos into images. Its free plan gives 40 trial credits and states that results are watermark-free. The free plan also includes a high-resolution download and a listed commercial license. Spacely AI does not say whether the 40 credits renew, and it does not state how many credits one render uses.
The paid side is less clear. Spacely AI does not show Personal, Studio or Agency prices. The only figures are top-up packs: 200 credits for $9, 1,000 for $35 and 5,000 for $150. Subscribers can buy them as one-time purchases. Education is listed at $30 with no period stated.
a watermark-free trial of a room restyle that you can download at full size. Watch out: with no published plan price, you cannot compare the monthly cost yet. Check the signup page before you commit to a subscription.
Remodel AI: three free designs, then 1,000 a month
Remodel AI's free plan gives three designs at standard quality, with all 30-plus interior styles and all eight of its AI tools. Remodel AI does not say whether the three designs are a one-time grant or renew each month. It also gives no watermark rule or commercial terms for the free plan.
The paid plans are where it scales. Pro is $29 a month or $349 a year, with 1,000 designs a month, HD downloads, no watermark and up to four rooms in parallel. Premium is $49 a month or $599 a year for 5,000 designs. Ultra is $99 a month or $1,199 a year, with a commercial license and API access.
three real photo restyles of one room before you decide whether to pay. Watch out: the yearly plans cost slightly more than twelve months of monthly billing. Pro costs $349 a year, while twelve months of monthly billing comes to $348. Premium costs $599 a year against $588 on monthly billing. Choose monthly if you might cancel early.
GenRoom: six credits at sign-up, then one-time packs
GenRoom's free plan gives six credits at sign-up and one free 4K design. Free accounts get a small genroom.io mark on their results. Every paid plan is a one-time payment with no renewal: Start is $9.99 for 36 credits, Basic is $19.99 for 100 credits with 4K output, and Pro is $39.99 for 300 credits. According to its FAQ, buying any plan removes the mark from new and existing designs.
GenRoom shows dollar amounts without naming the currency. Because every paid plan is one-time, you pay per pack rather than per month, which suits a homeowner with one project.
one 4K render to judge the output, then a pack if the result is worth keeping. Watch out: six credits is a sign-up grant, not a monthly allowance. GenRoom gives no renders-per-month figure.
Maket: 30 credits, which is three renders
Maket's free plan gives 30 one-time credits. Each render costs 10 credits, so the free plan covers three renders. Maket says downloadable exports are for paid plans only, so a free render is for looking at, not keeping.
Paid plans start with Homeowner at $20 a month for 300 credits, refreshed monthly. That covers 30 renders at the same rate. Pro is $100 a month for 3,000 credits. Maket says annual billing saves 17%, but it does not show the annual total.
checking whether a style works on your room before you pay $20. Watch out: a free render you cannot download is useful for a yes or no, not for a file you can use.
Floorplanner: free layouts with watermarked exports
Floorplanner's free account keeps up to five projects at no cost, with three floors and three designs per project. Its standard-definition exports carry a Floorplanner watermark, and the free plan has a 10-minute export cooldown. It is a floor-plan tool, not a photo restyle, so use it to plan room sizes and furniture placement before you style the room.
Floorplanner does not show Plus or Pro prices. The one priced option is pay-as-you-go credits: five for $8.15, 10 for $16.30, 30 for $48.90 and 100 for $163. The credits upgrade projects, and Floorplanner does not say how many credits each upgrade costs.
planning a room's dimensions and layout for free. Watch out: a free standard-definition export carries the watermark, so it works as a plan, not a finished image.
Planner 5D: unlimited free projects, no free photorealistic renders
Planner 5D's free plan gives unlimited projects and access to half of its furniture catalog. Photorealistic renders, AI floor-plan recognition and AI Studio credits are all upgrade features, and Planner 5D states no free allowance for any of them.
The paid plans are Premium at $19.99 a month or $59.99 a year, with 100 AI Studio credits a month or 1,200 a year. Professional is $49.99 a month or $399.99 a year, with 1,000 credits a month or 12,000 a year.
a free 2D and 3D layout you can keep building over several weeks. Watch out: if you need a photorealistic image, the free plan does not give you one.
Three tools we did not count as free
Interior AI, AI HomeDesign and Collov AI are not on the ranked list. Interior AI's homepage lists three paid plans and no free plan, starting at $49 a month, or $29 a month billed yearly. Some guides describe five free renders a day for Interior AI. That figure does not appear on its own pages, so we do not count it. AI HomeDesign's pricing page has a "Get started for free" button but states no free allowance. For the paid comparison, see best AI for interior design. Collov AI lists a free trial with a watermark and does not tie a render count to it.
What the free plans cover in practice
Take two cases. A homeowner who wants to test three rooms once can use Remodel AI's three designs or Maket's three renders, and each covers that test exactly. Homestyler's unlimited 1K renders cover the same test many times, though at 1K.
A real estate agent who needs ten listing photos a month hits the free limit fast. Remodel AI's three designs and Maket's three renders cover a fraction of that, so a paid step is needed from the start. Listing work is its own job, covered in best AI for real estate. Maket's Homeowner plan covers 30 renders for $20 a month. Remodel AI's Pro covers 1,000 designs for $29 a month. Remodel AI counts designs and Maket counts renders, so the two prices are not directly comparable.
How to choose by job
- Layout first (room size, furniture fit): Homestyler for unlimited 1K renders, Planner 5D for unlimited projects, Floorplanner for five projects.
- Restyling a real room photo: Remodel AI for three designs and then 1,000 a month, Spacely AI for 40 watermark-free credits, GenRoom for six credits and one 4K design.
- Quick daily experiments: Krea AI for 100 units a day, which is the only daily reset on this list. For editing a room photo beyond restyling, see best free photo editors.
- Files for a client: check the commercial terms first. Spacely AI lists a commercial license on its free plan, and Remodel AI lists one on its Ultra plan.
Common mistakes
- Treating "free" as a monthly allowance. Maket's 30 credits and GenRoom's six are one-time grants. Remodel AI does not say whether its three designs renew.
- Expecting to keep a free render. Maket says downloads are for paid plans only, and Floorplanner's free standard-definition exports carry a watermark.
- Paying yearly for less. Remodel AI's yearly plans cost $1 more than 12 months of Pro billed monthly, and $11 more than 12 months of Premium.
- Assuming commercial rights. Krea's free feature list and its FAQ disagree, so read both before you deliver a render.
- Buying a plan you cannot price. Spacely AI does not show its Personal, Studio or Agency prices.
FAQ
What is the best free AI room design tool in 2026?
Homestyler, on allowance alone. Its Basic plan is free and includes unlimited 1K renders and unlimited projects. Choose Spacely AI if a watermark-free result matters, and Remodel AI if you want three photo restyles to test a style first.
Is Homestyler free?
Yes. The Basic plan is free, with unlimited 1K renders and unlimited projects. 2K and 4K renders use Coins, and Homestyler does not state a watermark rule for the free plan.
Do free AI room design tools add a watermark?
Some do. GenRoom's free accounts carry a small genroom.io mark, and Floorplanner's free standard-definition exports carry a Floorplanner watermark. Spacely AI says its results are watermark-free, and Remodel AI does not state a rule for its free plan.
How many free renders does Remodel AI give?
Three designs at standard quality. Remodel AI does not say whether they renew. Its first paid plan, Pro, is $29 a month for 1,000 designs.
Is Interior AI free?
Not on its homepage pricing, which lists three paid plans starting at $49 a month. Some guides say it offers five renders a day, but that figure does not appear on its own pages.
Can I use free room renders commercially?
Check each plan. Spacely AI and Krea list a commercial license on their free plans, but Krea's FAQ names only paid plans as including one. Remodel AI lists a commercial license on its Ultra plan and says nothing about commercial use on its free plan.
Bottom line
Start with Homestyler if you want the most free output: unlimited 1K renders for free, plus room for a full layout. Choose Spacely AI when a watermark-free result matters, and Remodel AI when you want three photo restyles before you decide. Krea AI is the daily experiment tool. Count the limits before you sign up, because a free plan that resets every day gives you more to work with than a fixed three renders.
