What Is Volza?

Volza is the import/export trade data platform that aggregates shipment-level customs records from 80+ countries to help businesses find suppliers, identify buyers, and analyze international trade flows. The product covers over 7 billion shipment records globally.

The pitch is sales intelligence for international trade. Exporters use Volza to identify potential buyers in target markets. Importers use it to find suppliers and benchmark prices. Trading houses use it to understand commodity flows. The data comes from public customs records that countries make available with varying lag times.

The product competes with ImportGenius, Panjiva (S&P Global), TradeAtlas, and similar trade data platforms. Volza positions on global coverage and self-serve pricing transparency where competitors are often opaque and enterprise-only.

How Volza Works

Search by HS code (Harmonized System product code), product description, importer/exporter name, country, or port. Volza returns matching shipment records with details: parties involved, product description, quantity, value, port, date, container info.

Filter results to narrow down to specific markets or competitors. See who imports a specific product into the US, what volumes, at what frequency. Identify the top 10 suppliers in a category or the largest buyers in a region.

Export records to CSV for analysis in your tools. Some teams build CRM contact lists from importer records; others use the data for pricing benchmarks or market sizing.

The Trade Intelligence layer adds analytics: top trade lanes, country-level imports/exports trends, growing and declining product categories. Useful for strategic planning rather than tactical sales prospecting.

Subscription tiers vary access depth. Lower tiers cover specific countries or product categories; higher tiers offer global access.

Volza Pricing in 2026

Tiered annual subscriptions.

Starter: $1,500-$3,000/year. Limited country and product coverage.

Professional: $5,000-$8,000/year. Broader country coverage, more searches, analytics layer.

Enterprise: $15,000-$25,000+/year. Full global coverage, API access, dedicated support.

Pricing is more transparent than competitors but still varies significantly by use case. Sales call typical for accurate quotes.

Where Volza Wins

  • Global coverage: 80+ countries, broader than many US-centric competitors.
  • Shipment-level detail: actual transaction records, not aggregated stats.
  • Analytics layer: trade lane analysis and trends beyond raw records.
  • Reasonable self-serve entry: Starter tier accessible to SMBs.

Where It Falls Short

  • Data lag varies by country: some countries report monthly, others quarterly, some annually.
  • Data accuracy varies: customs records have inherent uncertainty (anti-dumping rules, freight forwarders as record holders, etc.).
  • Pricing climbs for global access: enterprise tiers reach $25K+/year.
  • Sales-led purchase process: not fully self-serve.

ImportGenius targets US imports primarily. Better US data, smaller global coverage.

Panjiva (S&P Global) is the enterprise leader with deepest data but enterprise-only pricing.

TradeAtlas covers Europe deeper. Pick TradeAtlas for European-focused operations.

Datamyne targets specific regional and product depths.

Who Should Use Volza

Exporters identifying buyers in new markets: shipment data reveals who is buying what.

Importers finding suppliers: see who exports specific products and at what volumes.

Trading houses analyzing commodity flows: market intelligence beyond pricing data.

Skip it if: you sell only domestically (no international trade), need US-only data (ImportGenius is cheaper), or have enterprise budget for Panjiva.

How Volza works

Volza is a global import-export trade intelligence platform: a searchable database of customs and bill-of-lading shipment records used to find buyers, suppliers, competitors' supply chains and price benchmarks. The site claims 203 countries and 3.126 billion shipment records, with each record carrying product, quantity, price, buyer and supplier names, country and shipment date. On top of the raw records it layers company profiles and verified decision-maker contacts (email, phone, LinkedIn). It is run by a UAE-based entity backed by InfodriveIndia, with a claimed 30-year data heritage.

You search by product description, HS/HSN code, or company name, and the interface pushes you toward an HS code for precision. From there you work the results through pre-built dashboards rather than raw exports: summary and pivot analysis by consignee, shipper, port, country and HS code, comparison views, time series, a "what's new" feed, a company network and product network graph, and a built-in buyer/supplier CRM with favourites and email alerts. Work is organised into workspaces (300 to 600 depending on plan), each capped at 300K to 750K records, with user rights management and team sharing.

The commercial model separates viewing from downloading. Viewing full shipments is unlimited under a fair-use policy, while downloading consumes download credits. Those credits roll over to the next year, and re-downloading a record you already bought is free. Separately, Volza sells REST APIs documented at docs.volza.com: Global Trade, Supplier Insights, Buyer Insights and Decision Maker Contact, priced per call at $0.10 per search, from $0.02 per record, $5.00 per report and $1.50 per contact record, and pitched for embedding into your own ERP or CRM. Support runs 24/7 across live chat, phone, email and WhatsApp, with a dedicated customer success manager on paid tiers.

Where Volza wins

  • Genuinely broad country coverage for one subscription, including 100%-coverage detailed databases for markets many rivals skip: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka.
  • Analysis is built in, not bolted on. Pivot, comparison, time-series and network dashboards let you answer a sourcing question without exporting to Excel first.
  • No double-charging on downloads. Credits roll over year to year, and re-downloading an already-purchased record costs nothing.
  • Decision-maker contacts sit next to the shipment data (verified phone, email, LinkedIn), so prospecting and research happen in the same tool.
  • A documented per-call API with published unit prices, covering shipments, buyer and supplier profiles and contacts, for teams that want the data inside their own systems.
  • 7-day free trial with no credit card, plus a stated 100% money-back guarantee.

Where it falls short

  • Expensive and annual-only: $1,500/yr Startup, $4,500/yr SME, $9,600/yr Corporate. No monthly plan and no cheap entry point for a one-off sourcing project.
  • The $1,500 Startup plan is not the full database. It covers 182 countries and explicitly excludes roughly 39 "premium" markets including Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Russia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan and Iran, and caps you at 6,000 searches.
  • "203 countries" mixes data types. Only 44 export and 50 import databases are detailed shipment data; the rest are mirror (160/158), one-side (7/7) or statistical (46/48) datasets. Volza's own API page states coverage of 55+ export and 55+ import reporting countries, roughly 60% of global trade flows.
  • Freshness and depth vary sharply by country. The homepage update table shows many countries at 40% coverage, and several markets were last updated months ago (Malaysia 28-Feb-2026, Afghanistan 27-Jan-2026).
  • Verified contacts are metered and scarce relative to the record volume: 150, 450 and 1,000 per year on Startup, SME and Corporate, and Volza claims verified contacts for only "up to 70%" of companies.
  • The free trial excludes the most recent 6 months of data and allows only 100 searches with no download credits, so you cannot evaluate the data that actually matters for current sourcing.
  • API pricing is per-record and per-report with no self-serve signup. Every API path routes to "Talk to Sales" or a booking wizard.

Who should use Volza

Volza suits exporters, importers, procurement teams and business development teams doing continuous supplier discovery and competitor supply-chain mapping across emerging markets, with a budget that can absorb $4,500 a year or more. The value case rests on repeat use: the rollover credits, the workspaces, the built-in CRM and the alerting all assume you come back weekly, not once.

Anyone who needs only US or EU customs data, or a single one-off market study, will find the annual commitment and the tiered country exclusions poor value. Pay particular attention to the exclusion list before buying the Startup tier: if Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia or Bangladesh matter to your sourcing, the $1,500 plan does not cover them and you are effectively looking at the $4,500 SME price. And plan the trial carefully, since the missing six months means the trial data will not reflect what you would actually be buying.
