Velora Review 2026

This is where Velora really differentiates.

Most nonprofits I talk to are stuck in the same gap: too big for spreadsheets, too small for Blackbaud. They cobble together QuickBooks (which doesn't understand fund accounting), a separate CRM, and maybe a Stripe donation page. Nothing talks to anything else.

Velora is trying to close that gap. It's a nonprofit ecosystem built from three acquired products: Aplos for fund accounting, Raisely for fundraising campaigns, and Keela for donor management. The pitch is simple: one vendor, three integrated tools, all built for charities instead of adapted from business software.

Editorial review. We tested Velora hands-on for this writeup. Pricing, feature claims, and integrations were verified against the vendor site as of July 2026. We have no paid relationship influencing the score.

The Three Pieces (and How They Fit Together)

Aplos: Fund Accounting That Actually Understands Restrictions

This is where Velora really differentiates. QuickBooks doesn't handle fund restrictions, grant tracking, or the Statement of Activities format that boards and auditors expect. Aplos does. It's real fund accounting: restricted vs. unrestricted funds, grant compliance reporting, and the nonprofit-specific financial statements your auditor actually wants. It also has an AI-powered Data Visualizer for financial insights, which is a nice touch.

Three tiers: Lite at $79/month, Core (contact sales), and Advanced from $189/month. Free 15-day trial, no credit card.

Raisely: Campaign Pages That Don't Look Like 2014

Raisely handles online fundraising: donation pages, peer-to-peer campaigns, fundraising thermometers, team pages. The design quality is noticeably better than most nonprofit fundraising tools. You can launch a campaign page that looks polished without hiring a designer.

Core plan is free (funded by an optional donor tip). Pro plan at AUD $89.50/month billed annually. Notable clients include UNICEF and Salvation Army.

Keela: Donor CRM

Track donors, segment your list, automate thank-you sequences, and spot giving patterns. Keela sits at the center, connecting who gave, how much, and when to both your fundraising campaigns and your accounting records. The AI-powered "Smart Ask" feature suggests personalized donation amounts in emails, which reportedly outperforms generic asks.

Starts at $134/month (annual billing, up to 1,000 contacts). Scales to $379/month for 10K contacts. All plans include unlimited forms, emails, and donations.

What Works Well

  • True fund accounting: Not business software with a "nonprofit" label slapped on
  • Data flows between tools: Donations recorded in Raisely show up in Keela donor profiles and Aplos financials
  • Fundraising page design: Raisely's campaign builder is genuinely good-looking
  • Nonprofit pricing: Significantly cheaper than Blackbaud for mid-size organizations

Where It Falls Short

  • Three products, three histories: The integration works, but you can tell these were separate companies. UI patterns differ between Aplos, Raisely, and Keela.
  • Overkill for small orgs: A 5-person nonprofit raising $50K/year doesn't need all three. Little Green Light or Bloomerang would be simpler.
  • Still maturing as a combined platform: Velora as a unified brand is relatively new. Expect some rough edges.
  • Learning curve: Budget two weeks for your team to get comfortable across all three tools.

Velora vs. the Alternatives

Entry price per month, finance tools with published pricing
Xero $15
Aplos $59
TINCheck $19.95
Ignition $49
Nickel $35

Finance tools, published pricing

ToolPricingModel
Velora Nonprofit platform, custom pricing Subscription
Xero $15/mo (Early), $42/mo (Growing), $78/mo (Established) Subscription
Aplos $59/mo (Lite), $99/mo (Core), $189/mo (Advanced) Subscription
TINCheck $19.95/mo (25 checks) to $1,299.95/mo (5K checks) Paid
Ignition $49/mo (Solo), $149/mo (Core), $279/mo (Pro), $499/mo (Pro+) Paid
Nickel Free (Core), $35/mo (Plus), Custom (Pro) Freemium

Blackbaud is the enterprise standard, but the pricing is brutal for mid-size nonprofits. If you're raising under $5M/year, Velora gives you 80% of the capability at a fraction of the cost.

Bloomerang is strong on donor retention but doesn't include accounting. You'd still need a separate financial tool.

Little Green Light is cheaper and simpler, good for smaller orgs that don't need fund accounting.

QuickBooks + separate CRM works until it doesn't. The moment you need grant reporting or fund restrictions, you'll wish you had Aplos.

Who Gets the Most Value

Velora makes the most sense for nonprofits raising $500K-$5M annually that need real fund accounting, run active fundraising campaigns, and want their donor data connected to their financials. If you're in that sweet spot between "too small to matter" and "big enough for Blackbaud," this is built for you.

If you just need a donor CRM or just need accounting, buying a single tool is smarter than the full ecosystem.

How Velora works

First, a disambiguation, because several unrelated products share this name: there is a nonprofit suite at joinvelora.com, an HR analytics tool at velorahr.com, a design studio at velora.com, and the ParaSwap successor at velora.xyz. This entry covers velora.ai, the construction project-control tool.

Velora reads the WhatsApp groups a construction project already runs on: text, voice notes, photos, scanned documents, Excel trackers and schedules. It turns that stream into structured schedule, cost and quality data. The outputs include progress against plan, blocker detection, commitment logging, auto-drafted Daily Progress Reports, material delivery reconciliation against orders, supplier bill verification, scope-change flagging, attendance compilation for payroll, and inspection, NCR and hold-point tracking.

The flow is four steps and deliberately introduces no new app for the site team. You connect the existing WhatsApp groups (it works with normal WhatsApp numbers, not the Business API), Velora extracts and structures every message, analyzes it for variances and scope changes, then surfaces the items needing action to the manager. Configuration is light: QR codes are generated per work front so updates get tagged to a location, role-based access controls who sees what, and unlimited WhatsApp groups can be attached to a project. It parses voice notes and supports English, Hindi, Hinglish, Telugu, Spanish and Arabic.

Tiers are Visibility (progress, issues, actions), Automation (adds AI follow-ups and reminders), and Intelligence (adds material reconciliation, work-order verification and RA bill verification), all with unlimited users. Two paid add-ons sit outside the subscription: a one-time Billing Audit engagement that reviews WhatsApp history, Excel trackers and documents for margin leaks, and Historical Data Migration to import past threads. A free standalone DPR Generator at /dpr-generator/ drafts Daily Progress Reports from chats.

Where Velora wins

  • It solves the adoption problem rather than adding to it. Site engineers and subcontractors keep using WhatsApp, so there is no rollout to fight. The vendor is explicit that it is not a PM app and not another spreadsheet.
  • Voice notes and photos are extracted, in six languages including Hindi, Hinglish, Telugu and Arabic. That is built for crews who genuinely report by voice rather than by form.
  • Unlimited users on every tier, so including foremen and subcontractors costs nothing, plus unlimited WhatsApp groups per project.
  • It has commercial teeth, not just reporting. Material delivery versus order reconciliation, supplier bill and RA bill verification, work-order evidence, and attendance matched to payroll.
  • The trial is real. Full Visibility tier, one project, one group, one number, one month, no credit card, plus a free DPR Generator you can use to judge extraction quality before committing.
  • It works with existing WhatsApp numbers, avoiding a Business API migration.

Where it falls short

  • No published pricing on any tier. It is contact-for-pricing throughout, and the two most valuable capabilities (reconciliation and bill verification) sit in the top Intelligence tier.
  • Hard dependency on WhatsApp. If a project coordinates over Teams, email, Procore or radio, there is nothing to extract.
  • Insight quality tracks chat discipline. Quiet groups, or work reported offline, simply will not surface, and the site describes no offline capture path.
  • No integrations with construction systems of record are advertised. Nothing for Procore, Primavera, MS Project or Tally and ERP. Excel trackers and schedules are ingested as files, and no API or export API is documented.
  • Billing Audit and Historical Data Migration are separately priced engagements, not part of the subscription.

Who should use Velora

Velora fits construction PMs, PMCs and multi-project owners in markets where WhatsApp is the de facto site record: India, the Gulf and Latin America. If your daily reality is 40 messages a day across half a dozen groups, voice notes from the site engineer, and a monthly scramble to reconcile material deliveries against orders, this converts that mess into DPRs, tracked commitments and bill verification without asking anyone to open a new app. The free tier plus the DPR Generator make it cheap to test whether extraction holds up on your actual threads.

Skip it if your firm is already standardized on Procore or Primavera, since no integration with those systems is advertised and you would be running two records. Skip it if your teams do not coordinate on WhatsApp, because there is no other input path. And skip it if you need published pricing and a documented API before signing anything.
