You're spending $30K/month on Meta and Google Ads. You check campaigns in the morning, adjust budgets, pause underperformers, scale winners. Then you sleep, and a campaign burns through $500 overnight on a broken audience. Birch (formerly Revealbot) is the automation layer that monitors your ads 24/7 and applies optimization rules while you're not looking.

"If CPA exceeds $50, pause the ad." "If ROAS is above 3x, increase budget by 20%." "If spend hits $200 with zero conversions, kill it." You define the rules, Birch executes them across Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, and Pinterest. Every 15 minutes if you want.

Rules-Based Automation

The core of Birch is if/then rules applied to your ad accounts. The rule builder is visual: pick your metric (CPA, ROAS, spend, impressions, whatever), set a condition, choose an action (pause, scale budget, send alert, change bid). Rules can combine multiple conditions and run on schedules you set.

Smart budgeting rules automatically shift money from underperforming campaigns to winners. Dayparting rules pause ads during hours when your audience doesn't convert (no more burning budget at 3 AM). Bulk actions let you make changes across hundreds of ads simultaneously.

Automated reports summarize what Birch did: which rules fired, which ads were paused, how budgets shifted. You stay in control while the system handles execution.

Pricing

Starter: $99/month for up to $10K in managed ad spend. Core automation for smaller advertisers.

Growth: $199/month for up to $50K in spend. More rules, more platforms, advanced features.

Scale: $499/month for up to $200K in spend. Full features, priority support, team collaboration.

Enterprise: Custom pricing for high spenders.

At $99-499/month, the ROI question is straightforward: does the automation save you more than it costs? If you're spending $50K/month and Birch prevents one $2,000 overnight budget waste per month, it pays for itself.

The Risks of Automation

What works:

  • 24/7 monitoring catches problems you'd miss overnight or on weekends
  • Multi-platform management from one dashboard saves hours per week
  • Consistent rule execution beats human attention span
  • Budget allocation optimization improves ROAS measurably for most advertisers

What to watch:

  • Bad rules execute fast. A misconfigured rule can pause your best campaign or blow through budget before you notice. Start conservative.
  • $99/month floor means this doesn't make sense under ~$5K/month in ad spend
  • Automation optimizes tactics, not strategy. If your targeting or creative is wrong, Birch will efficiently optimize garbage.
  • No creative management. Birch handles budgets and rules, not ad creation.

Facebook Automated Rules / Google Rules: Free, basic, limited. Fine for simple pause/scale triggers. Birch adds cross-platform management, complex condition chaining, and better reporting.

Smartly.io: Enterprise ad automation with creative automation on top of rules. More powerful but much more expensive. For large agencies and brands spending $500K+/month.

Madgicx: Combines automation with creative analytics and AI-driven audience targeting. Different approach, similar price range.

How Bïrch works

Bïrch (bir.ch, formerly Revealbot) is a paid-ads automation and management layer that sits on top of your ad accounts. Rather than managing Meta, Google, TikTok and Snapchat in four separate interfaces, you build automated rules that watch metrics and act for you: pause losing ads, scale winners, adjust budgets, enforce spend caps, day-part campaigns. Around that rules engine it adds bulk ad launching, creative analysis, reporting and, through Bïrch Hub, server-side conversion tracking for Meta. The vendor states 15K ad accounts connected, 240M automated actions a year, and $2B in annual managed spend.

You connect accounts and organise them into Workspaces, a client and project split aimed at agencies. Rules are assembled from conditions grouped with AND/OR, ranking conditions, and metric-versus-metric comparisons across the same or different time windows, then mapped to 20+ actions on a schedule. There are 30+ prebuilt strategy templates (Day parting, Scale Slow and Fast, Power of Threes) to start from. Custom metrics let you write formulas and pull external values from Google Sheets, Hyros, AppsFlyer or Wicked Reports, so rules can fire on your attribution rather than the platform's. Launcher mass-produces ad sets from creative combinations (up to 50 ads per set, with macro auto-tagging and validation checks), Stage bulk-uploads creatives and clones an existing ad setup onto them, and Explorer surfaces last week's top ads, best video ads and fatiguing creatives. Post Boosting promotes organic Facebook and Instagram posts when impression, engagement, click-rate or keyword triggers hit. Reports go out on a schedule to email or Slack, white-labelled for agencies. The AI layer reads the rules you already have and proposes new ones, but every suggestion needs your sign-off before it becomes live automation.

Where Bïrch wins

  • A genuinely deep rule builder: nested AND/OR conditions, ranking conditions and metric-to-metric comparison across different timeframes, which most native ad-platform rule engines cannot do.
  • Rules can act on external attribution data from Hyros, AppsFlyer, Wicked Reports or Google Sheets, not only platform-reported conversions.
  • Four networks in one automation engine (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snapchat) with a shared dashboard and shared rule concepts.
  • Agency-shaped: Workspaces per client, white-label scheduled reports, Slack alerts, and activity and automation logs so you can audit what a rule actually did.
  • The AI is advisory by design. It recommends rules based on your existing setup and requires approval, so it cannot quietly reallocate budget.
  • A 14-day free trial with full feature access and no credit card.

Where it falls short

  • No free tier, and the entry plan is deliberately limited. After the trial the cheapest plan is $49/mo, with automated rules, strategies, Launcher, Stage, Explorer, custom metrics, audience builder and the Sheets/AppsFlyer/Hyros integrations all reserved for Pro.
  • Pricing scales with monthly ad spend across connected accounts, and monthly billing carries overage charges when you pass your spend tier (annual billing removes overages, Enterprise removes both).
  • Bïrch Hub server-side tracking is Meta-only, so the tracking half of the product does not cover Google, TikTok or Snap.
  • Signals Gateway is billed separately on event volume (free to 10K events/mo, then $10, $49, $149, $249 and $499 tiers), so the real bill is two line items.
  • No LinkedIn, Amazon Ads, Pinterest, Reddit or X support. Any meaningful budget outside the four supported networks stays manual.
  • Setup burden is real. The value lives in well-written rules and custom metrics, and the vendor ships a crash course and advanced-rules guides precisely because the engine is not point-and-click.

Who should use Bïrch

Bïrch suits performance agencies and in-house teams spending enough per month that manual pausing, scaling and reporting has become the job itself. It is a particularly good match if you already pipe Hyros, AppsFlyer or Wicked Reports attribution and want rules firing on those numbers instead of the platform's.

It is a poor fit for small advertisers under a few thousand a month, since the Essential plan lacks the automation that is the entire point. Skip it too if your spend is concentrated on LinkedIn or Amazon, or if you want a hands-off AI that runs the accounts by itself: here the AI proposes, and you approve.

FAQ

How often do rules check campaigns?

As frequently as every 15 minutes. You control the schedule. More frequent checks catch problems faster but generate more actions.

Can I undo automated actions?

All actions are logged. You can manually reverse any change, but there's no automatic "undo" button. This is why starting with conservative rules matters.

Birch is for advertisers who've outgrown manual campaign management. If you're spending enough that checking ads daily isn't enough, and overnight or weekend budget waste is costing you real money, automation makes sense. The rules are flexible, the multi-platform support covers the major channels, and the 15-minute check intervals catch issues before they get expensive. Start with one account, set up 3-4 basic rules (pause high CPA, scale high ROAS, alert on zero conversions), and see if it catches things you would have missed. It usually does.
