Cheapest Online Fax Services in 2026: What 100 Pages a Month Costs on Each

Trusted by780,000+ Techpresso subscribers·Editorial policy·How we make money

For one user, one fax number and 100 pages a month (about 25 four-page faxes, half sent and half received), Notifyre is the cheapest of the eight services priced on that basket: $76.80 over 12 months on 20 Oct 2026, from a $4.90 monthly receive plan plus $0.03 for each page sent. Fax.Plus Basic follows at $83.99 billed annually. Most plans here cap far more than 100 pages, so you are mostly paying for a number that can receive.

Dupple data: reading 10 online fax pricing pages on 20 Oct 2026 turned up 9 printed fax prices, and the 8 priced on the 100-page basket span $223.20 over 12 months, from $76.80 at Notifyre to $300.00 at Documo.

Cheapest Online Fax Services in 2026: What 100 Pages a Month Costs on Each. Last updated October 2026.
Service Plan priced 12-month total Hidden costs HIPAA and BAA
Notifyre Plus receive plan with 200 pages and one number, plus 50 sent pages a month from a prepaid wallet $76.80 (plan billed monthly) Wallet top-ups start at $10; extra number $5 a month; 100 sent pages until the account is verified Free BAA printed on its pricing page
Fax.Plus Basic, 200 pages a month $83.99 billed annually Porting a US number needs Premium at $167.99 a year; custom number $19.99 once Enterprise only, $959.99 billed annually
FAXAGE Professional, 300 inbound and 300 outbound minutes $100.40 (12 monthly bills of $7.95 plus a $5.00 setup fee) Extra minute $0.05; month to month only All plans; BAA on request, no fee stated
MetroFax Essential, 550 pages a month About $119.52 billed annually ($9.96 a month) $143.40 billed monthly; activation $0 Not mentioned on the pricing page
FaxBurner Professional, 500 pages in and out $179.40 (12 monthly bills of $14.95) App Store lists $12.99 monthly and $99.99 annual; toll-free numbers only No, per its FAQ
eFax Personal, 200 pages a month $189.96 billed annually $227.88 billed monthly BAA on Business only, $399.96 billed annually
iFax Plus, 500 pages with one number $299.99 billed annually Basic at $149.99 a year cannot receive; $359.88 billed monthly BAA mentioned on its HIPAA page, no plan or price
Documo mFax Solo, 300 pages a month $300.00 (Solo shows $25 a month billed annually) Extra page $0.15; extra user or number $3.00 a month BAA included in Solo
FaxZero Not in the basket: sends only, billed per fax $3.29 per fax, no total Free fax: 3 pages, 5 a day, branded cover, ad-supported Not stated
RingCentral Not in the basket: no fax-only price No total Fax is part of RingEX; tier not confirmed Not priced here

Each total is 12 months of the cheapest plan that carries one user, one number and 100 sent plus received pages, at list prices before sales tax, with one-time setup fees included and promotions left out. Rows run from the lowest to the highest total among the eight services priced on that basket, and the two outside it close the list: FaxZero, which only sends, and RingCentral, which publishes no fax-only price.

Subscription or pay per fax?

A subscription buys a number that can receive, and receiving is the one job a pay-per-fax service cannot do. Every plan priced above includes a number for incoming faxes, while FaxZero and the pay-as-you-go side of Notifyre charge only for what leaves your office. That wins when you send a few faxes a year and nothing needs to arrive.

The two models meet at low volume. Notifyre's receive plan plus 10 sent pages costs $5.20 a month for a 20-page month, and FAXAGE's Lite plan comes to $4.49. Past a handful of pages you are buying a plan either way, so the real choice is which cap and which billing term.

What is an online fax service?

An online fax service hosts a fax number for you and lets you send and receive faxes by email, web app or phone app, with no machine or phone line. Plans cap pages, not faxes, and some caps differ between sending and receiving.

Methodology: how we priced 100 pages

This is a comparison of vendor pricing pages, checkout summaries and help pages read on 20 Oct 2026, and no service was tested. Prices are in US dollars before tax, with the billing term stated.

The basket is one user, one fax number, email-to-fax and 100 pages a month for 12 months, 50 sent and 50 received. Fax.Plus, eFax, FaxBurner and MetroFax count received pages against the same monthly allowance as sent ones, while iFax and Documo do not say how they count. Notifyre charges per sent page and caps received pages, so its total depends on that 50/50 split. FAXAGE bills line minutes, and we count one minute per page, the minimum it charges for an answered call and above its own average of 30 to 45 seconds a page. Where a yearly price exists we use it and show the monthly alternative beside it.

1

Notifyre: the lowest total when pages arrive more than they leave

Notifyre's pricing page splits the bill in two. Its pricing page also lists a free Business Associate Agreement (BAA) under security. Receive plans run $4.90 a month for 200 pages (Plus), $7.90 for 500 (Pro), $14.90 for 1,000 (Business) and $39.90 for 3,000 (Premium), each with one fax number and excess pages at $0.07, $0.06, $0.05 and $0.05. Sending is pay as you go at $0.03 a page from a wallet that starts at a $10 top-up, and the FAQ says wallet funds never expire.

The catch is that the send charge grows with volume, and new accounts can send 100 fax pages until Notifyre verifies them. Verdict: Pick it when most pages arrive rather than leave, or when you want no yearly commitment.

2

Fax.Plus: the cheapest flat plan that still receives

Fax.Plus lists Basic at $83.99 billed annually, shown as $6.99 a month, or $8.99 billed monthly, with 200 pages, one number, one member and $0.10 per extra page. Premium adds toll-free numbers and number porting for 500 pages at $167.99 billed annually. Its FAQ ties incoming faxes to the pages left in your allowance, and the free plan, which gives 10 pages to fax in total, cannot receive.

The catch is the ladder above Basic: porting a US or Canadian number requires Premium, and a BAA exists only on Enterprise at $959.99 billed annually for 4,000 pages. Verdict: Pick it for balanced traffic and a yearly payment; billed monthly it drops behind FAXAGE.

3

FAXAGE: priced by the minute, with HIPAA terms in every plan

FAXAGE's pricing page charges a monthly fee per line plus line time. Professional is $7.95 a month with 300 inbound and 300 outbound minutes, Lite is $3.49 a month with every minute at $0.05, and both add a $5.00 setup fee. Its minutes versus pages FAQ bills a one-minute minimum per answered call, then six-second steps, and its billing FAQ says all usage is month to month with no prepay discount.

The catch is that a page-heavy fax can run past the one-minute estimate, which Professional's 600 minutes absorb. Verdict: Pick it as the next-cheapest route with HIPAA terms after Notifyre, since its HIPAA page says every plan includes HIPAA compliance and a BAA on request.

4

MetroFax: 550 pages for one yearly payment

MetroFax sells Essential at $11.95 billed monthly or $9.96 a month billed annually, about $119.52 a year, for 550 sent and received pages. Best Value is 1,050 pages at $14.95 monthly or $12.46 billed annually, and Professional is 3,000 pages at $37.95 or $31.63. Activation is $0. The page's description line says plans start at $9.95 a month, a cent under the $9.96 card, which is the figure used here.

The catch is that the pricing page says nothing about HIPAA or a BAA. Verdict: Pick it when you want a 550-page cushion and one payment a year.

5

FaxBurner: a free tier and a phone-first service

FaxBurner's plans are Free at $0 (a number that lasts 24 hours, 5 pages to send in total, 25 pages received a month), Professional at $14.95 a month and Premier at $24.95 a month. The paid plans keep a toll-free number and cover 500 and 2,000 pages in and out, and its FAQ repeats both prices. The iPhone app's App Store listing shows a $12.99 monthly subscription and a $99.99 annual fax service without naming a plan, so the table uses the website price.

The catch is that the FAQ says FaxBurner is not HIPAA compliant "at this time" and does not support international faxing. Verdict: Pick it as a phone-first user who wants to start free; skip it for healthcare.

6

eFax: a known name at $189.96 a year

eFax sells Personal at $18.99 a month billed monthly or $15.83 a month billed annually, with 200 pages to the US and Canada, one user, one number and $0.10 per extra page sent or received. Business is $39.99 monthly or $33.33 billed annually, with 500 pages, 5 users and $0.07 per extra page. The first-month offer shown on Business, $14.99, is a promotion and sits outside every total.

The catch is that Personal is HIPAA-compliant in its encryption, but the signed BAA comes only with Business. Verdict: Pick it for the brand or for Business's 5 users; at 100 pages it costs $105.97 more a year than Fax.Plus Basic.

7

iFax: Plus is the plan that receives

iFax opens on annual billing. Basic is $12.49 a month ($149.99 a year) for 200 pages, but it only sends and has no number. Plus adds receiving, one number and HIPAA-compliant status for 500 pages at $24.99 a month ($299.99 a year), or $29.99 billed monthly, and Pro starts at 1,000 pages. The page says there are no setup or overage fees, so a plan change replaces overage charges.

The catch is paying for 500 pages when 100 are used. Its HIPAA page says iFax provides a signed BAA for healthcare clients without naming a plan or a price. Verdict: Pick it only if you expect traffic to grow toward 500.

8

Documo mFax: Solo at $25 a month, billed annually

Documo's pricing page lists Solo Cloud Fax, its mFax product, at $25 a month billed annually, or $300.00 over 12 months, with 300 pages, one number, one user, HIPAA compliance and a BAA. Business is $80 a month billed annually or $100 monthly for 1,500 pages. Solo shows $25 on both the monthly and yearly tabs, and the page prints no month-to-month Solo price. A 14-day free trial needs no card.

The catch is that Solo is the dearest of the eight by one cent, and its page does not say whether received pages use the 300. Verdict: Pick it if you want the BAA and a trial without a card; FAXAGE gives HIPAA terms for $199.60 less, and Notifyre for $223.20 less.

9

FaxZero: free to send, but it cannot receive

FaxZero offers a free fax of up to 3 pages plus a cover, with its logo on the cover and up to 5 free faxes a day, in the US and Canada. Its $3.29 option, paid by PayPal without an account, allows 25 pages, drops the logo and the daily limit, and gets priority delivery. The site is supported by advertising, and international faxes are not free.

The catch is that FaxZero lists no number and no receiving, so it cannot carry the basket and sits outside the totals. Verdict: Pick it for one outgoing fax a year.

10

RingCentral: no fax-only price

RingCentral's fax page says online faxing is built into RingEX, its business phone and messaging service. The RingEX plans page builds its comparison table by script, so we could not read which tiers carry fax; third-party plan tables list unlimited internet fax from Advanced upward, which we have not confirmed. RingEX is priced per user as a phone system, so RingCentral does not publish a price for fax alone and the table gives no total.

The catch is that you buy a phone system to get fax. Verdict: Pick it only if you already want RingEX for calls.

Where the order changes

  • At 20 pages a month. FAXAGE Lite is $58.88 over 12 months with the setup fee, ahead of Notifyre at $62.40, while Fax.Plus Basic keeps its annual price at any volume.
  • At 70 sent pages a month. Notifyre reaches $84.00, one cent above Fax.Plus Basic, which takes first place. At 100 sent pages Notifyre totals $94.80.
  • Billed month to month. After Notifyre the order becomes FAXAGE, then Fax.Plus at $107.88, MetroFax at $143.40, FaxBurner, eFax and iFax; Documo prints no monthly Solo price.
  • With a BAA. Notifyre is lowest, with a free BAA on its pricing page ($76.80), then FAXAGE (BAA on request), Documo, eFax Business and Fax.Plus Enterprise, whose prices are in the table.
  • One fax a year. FaxZero's free fax covers 3 pages and the $3.29 option 25. Notifyre's page points one-time senders to Faxaroo, "from just $2", and FaxBurner's free plan sends 5 pages in total against Fax.Plus's 10.

How to choose

Count your sent and received pages before anything else. If most arrive, Notifyre wins; if traffic is balanced and you can pay yearly, Fax.Plus Basic is the safer flat price. For a healthcare office, price the BAA first and compare Notifyre, FAXAGE, Documo, eFax Business and Fax.Plus Enterprise rather than the plan headlines.

If the office also needs a business phone number next to its fax number, our guide to virtual phone systems prices five of them. Many faxed forms exist to carry a signature, and our comparison of e-signature software covers eight tools that collect it online. Common mistakes

Buying the big cap. iFax Plus for 500 pages costs $216.00 more a year than Fax.Plus Basic, which already covers 200.

Paying monthly when a yearly price exists. eFax Personal is $37.92 more billed monthly, and Fax.Plus Basic is $23.89 more.

Reading the first-month offer as the price. eFax advertises $14.99 to start Business, then the regular rate.

Assuming HIPAA comes with the plan. The BAA sits $876.00 above Fax.Plus Basic at Enterprise, and $210.00 above eFax Personal at Business.

Buying a plan that cannot receive. iFax Basic at $149.99 a year sends only, and Fax.Plus's free plan cannot receive.

FAQ

What is the cheapest online fax service in 2026?

For one user and 100 pages a month, half sent and half received, Notifyre is the cheapest of the eight priced services over 12 months, read on 20 Oct 2026. Fax.Plus Basic is next on its yearly price and overtakes Notifyre once more than 69 of the 100 pages are sent.

How much does an online fax service cost per month?

For 100 pages the printed prices start at $4.90 a month for Notifyre's receive plan, plus $0.03 per page sent, and reach $25 a month at Documo, billed annually. Fax.Plus Basic is $6.99 a month billed annually or $8.99 billed monthly, and eFax Personal is $15.83 or $18.99.

Is there a free online fax service, or one with no subscription?

For sending, yes. FaxZero sends up to 3 pages free, FaxBurner's free plan sends 5 pages in total and receives 25 a month on a number that lasts 24 hours, and Fax.Plus's free plan sends 10 pages in total. Notifyre has no subscription if you only send, at the per-page rate with a minimum top-up.

What is the cheapest HIPAA-compliant online fax service?

On this basket Notifyre is lowest at $76.80 for 12 months, and its pricing page lists a free BAA. FAXAGE follows at $100.40 with a BAA on request, then Documo Solo at $300.00 and eFax Business at $399.96 billed annually. Fax.Plus needs Enterprise at $959.99 billed annually. This compares prices only; confirm each BAA's terms with the vendor.

Which costs less, eFax or Fax.Plus?

Fax.Plus. For 200 pages a month, one user and one number, Fax.Plus Basic is $107.88 billed monthly, and eFax Personal is $227.88. Both charge $0.10 per extra page, and on yearly billing the gap is $105.97.

Bottom line

For 100 pages a month, start with Notifyre if most pages arrive, Fax.Plus Basic billed annually if traffic is balanced, and FAXAGE as the next-cheapest HIPAA route (Notifyre also lists a free BAA). Skip any plan whose cap you will not use, since a 100-page office needs no more than 200. Count your own sent and received pages first, because that split moves the total more than the plan name does.
