Updated October 30, 2026: prices checked on each vendor's site. Comu sent us a review unit; Comu did not see or approve this review. The Comu Action Pro is worth buying if your meetings end in follow-up work: $169.99, $159.99 with code DUPPLE, as of October 30, 2026. The store shows it on sale, down from $256.99 (Halloween sale, save 34%). Its free Starter plan transcribes without a monthly cap, but it translates once a month and runs only 3 deep analyses a month. Unlimited translation needs Premium.

The short version

  • Biggest strength: Comu says the AI button turns a spoken request into a deck, an email, a document or an action list. Comu's 70-hour battery claim is the highest hour figure in this comparison.
  • Biggest catch: the free plan translates once a month and caps deep analysis at 3 a month. Unlimited translation needs Premium, $10.00 a month billed annually or $14.99 billed monthly.
  • Strongest alternative: the Comulytic Note Pro uses the same plan table and costs $109.69, or $99.69 with code DUPPLE. Its battery claim is 45 hours.

What the Comu Action Pro is

The Action Pro is a pocket-sized recorder with a vibrant OLED display, a six-microphone capture system, a built-in magnetic mount and USB-C charging. Comu's store page lists up to 70 hours of recording on a single charge, 113 languages, a 7-meter pickup range, and SOC II, GDPR and HIPAA compliance. It does not state the device's storage, so check that before you buy.

How it works day to day

Comu's FAQ describes the core workflow as one press of the dedicated AI button, followed by a spoken request. Its examples are client meeting presentations, business emails, work documents and meeting action item lists. Comu's store page says its basic recording, transcription and summary features have no usage limits. Those are the vendor's descriptions, not results we measured.

The free plan covers the core job. What it leaves out is the part Comu sells as the upgrade: real-time translation runs once a month on Starter, deep AI analysis runs three times a month, and the plan includes 500 Agent Credits a month. If you need a transcript and a short summary, the free plan may be enough. If you want the follow-up work on every meeting, plan on Premium.

Our test

Louis Corneloup, Dupple's founder, used the Comu Action Pro, a review unit that Comu provided, in a meeting. Louis found the unit light and slim, and he liked it. The app impressed him, and he rated the screen quality highly. Pulling it out in a meeting felt natural and gave a polished, professional impression. His one complaint: the back takes on fingerprints a bit.

Plans and what they cost over 12 and 24 months

Comu's plan table has three tiers. Starter is $0. Premium is $10.00 a month billed annually, or $14.99 a month billed monthly. Elite is $29.99 a month billed annually, or $39.99 a month billed monthly. The same table applies to the Comulytic Note Pro.

A light user records a few meetings a month and stays within the Starter limits, so the device is the only cost. A heavy user needs unlimited translation and full analysis on every meeting, so Premium is the minimum. The table uses the device price with code DUPPLE. Without the code, each row costs $10 more.

Cost of ownership for the Comu Action Pro: device price with code DUPPLE, plans as listed by Comu on October 30, 2026
Setup Plan cost, 12 months Total, 12 months Plan cost, 24 months Total, 24 months
Light user, Starter (free) $0 $159.99 $0 $159.99
Heavy user, Premium billed annually $120.00 $279.99 $240.00 $399.99
Heavy user, Premium billed monthly $179.88 $339.87 $359.76 $519.75
Heavy user, Elite billed annually $359.88 $519.87 $719.76 $879.75

Dupple data: computed from vendor prices on October 30, 2026. Premium billed annually is $10.00 times 12, which is $120.00 for a year, and $10.00 times 24, which is $240.00 for two years. Premium billed monthly is $14.99 times 12, which is $179.88, and $14.99 times 24, which is $359.76. Elite billed annually is $29.99 times 12, which is $359.88, and $29.99 times 24, which is $719.76.

A light user pays the device price and nothing else. A heavy user on Premium billed annually pays $399.99 over 24 months, which is $240.00 more than the device alone. Billing annually saves $119.76 over two years compared with the monthly rate.

Before you commit to a plan, check the Comu Action Pro price on Comu's store, then apply code DUPPLE at checkout.

Comu Action Pro vs Comulytic Note Pro: which Comu should you buy?

The two Comu devices share the app, the plan table and the 113-language claim. Comu's FAQ says the Action Pro adds the dedicated AI button (slides, emails, documents), a one-touch assistant and proactive AI workflows; the Note Pro is aimed at sales conversations, and its page describes one tap to start recording and one tap to stop. The Action Pro claims 70 hours of battery and has a 7-meter pickup range. The Comulytic Note Pro claims 45 hours and a 5-meter pickup range. At the current sale prices the Note Pro costs $60.30 less, $109.69 against $169.99 (list $158.99 against $256.99), and the code keeps that gap. If you record long meetings in person and want the follow-up tools, the Action Pro is the better buy. If you want the same plans for less and your recordings are shorter, the Note Pro is the cheaper Comu. Check the Comulytic Note Pro price on Comu's store.

Who should buy the Comu Action Pro, and who should skip it

  • Buy it if your meetings end in follow-up work and you want the highest hour figure in this comparison (70 hours, Comu's claim).
  • Buy it if you meet people in person and want a recorder that looks professional in a meeting. Louis said it did.
  • Skip it if you need translation on every call. Starter allows one real-time translation a month.
  • Skip it if you want full AI on a free plan. Starter caps deep analysis at 3 a month and gives 500 Agent Credits a month.
  • Look elsewhere if you need PLAUD's list of certifications, or if your meetings all happen on Zoom or Google Meet. A software app may do the job without hardware.
