- Biggest RingConn catch: the return policy covers returns for valid reasons only, within 14 calendar days. Changing your mind is not one of them.
- Biggest Oura strength: Oura's own page says the membership unlocks the full daily insights. Without it, you see three daily scores.
- Biggest Oura catch: the membership adds $69.99 to $143.76 over 12 to 24 months on top of either Oura ring, and the Ring 5 charging case costs $99 extra.

RingConn Gen 2: the card
1. RingConn Gen 2, best for a ring with no monthly fee

At $299 the Gen 2 is the lowest total of the four rings, and nothing recurs after you buy it. RingConn says it tracks heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature, sleep stages and steps, and its page says "No Subscriptions". The ring is rated IP68 waterproof to 100 meters, and the charging case is included in the box. RingConn's Gen 2 page
- Pro: no membership, and the charging case comes with the ring.
- Pro: RingConn says the battery lasts 10 to 12 days, depending on size: up to 10 days for sizes 6 and 7, 11 for sizes 8 to 11, and 12 for sizes 12 to 14.
- Con: returns cover valid reasons only, within 14 calendar days. RingConn's policy says it does not support returns or exchanges without a valid reason.
- Con: the sizing kit is non-refundable, and individual kits cost $10 to ship. RingConn warns that a wrong size may affect comfort and sensor accuracy.
- Con: the ring stores data offline for only 5 to 7 days, per the Gen 2 specifications.
RingConn says the Gen 2 is HSA/FSA eligible and that Flex checkout is available for eligible customers, with savings that vary by person.
2. RingConn Gen 3, best for vibration alerts with no fee

The Gen 3 is $50 more than the Gen 2 and has no subscription either. It adds vibration alerts and vascular health trends, which the Gen 2 does not have, and it claims the longest RingConn battery at up to 14 days with vibration off. US orders include three months of Strava, while supplies last. RingConn's Gen 3 page
- Pro: up to 14 days on a charge with vibration off, against 10 to 12 days on the Gen 2.
- Con: it costs $50 more than the Gen 2 for the same 1-year warranty and the same 14-day, valid-reason return rule.
- Con: the sizes run from 6 to 15, and RingConn says Gen 3 sizes differ from its other rings, so a Gen 2 size is not a safe guess.
- Con: the Strava offer is three months of a Strava subscription, which then needs its own payment.
3. Oura Ring 4, best for Oura's app at the lower Oura price

The Ring 4 is $349 (Silver); $349, list $399 (Stealth); $399, list $499 (Gold), read November 3, 2026, on Oura's US finish pages. Over 24 months on the annual plan the Silver costs $488.98, which is $189.98 more than the Gen 2. That keeps it below the Ring 5's $538.98. Oura says the Ring 4 gets 5 to 8 days of battery. Oura's Ring 4 Silver page
- Pro: the lowest Oura price in this comparison, and the same membership as the Ring 5.
- Con: without an active membership you see only three daily scores (Readiness, Activity and Sleep). Oura says the insights and personal health data you get are "much more limited" without it.
- Con: the battery lasts 5 to 8 days, against 10 to 12 days for the Gen 2.
- Con: the membership costs the same as on the Ring 5, so the lower price is on the ring alone.
4. Oura Ring 5, best for Oura's newest ring

The Ring 5 is Oura's current ring. Its store page calls it the smallest Oura Ring, with a rebuilt battery and tuned firmware. Oura says its accuracy has been tested against lab measurements in independent, peer-reviewed studies, and the ring is waterproof to 100 meters. At $399 in Silver or Black, and $499 in the other finishes, it costs $50 more than the Ring 4 in Silver, and it is the most expensive ring here over two years. Oura's Ring 5 page
- Pro: the membership's first month is free for new members, according to Oura's membership page.
- Con: without an active membership you see only three daily scores (Readiness, Activity and Sleep). Oura says the insights and personal health data you get are "much more limited" without it.
- Con: the battery lasts 6 to 9 days, against 10 to 12 days for the Gen 2.
- Con: the Oura Ring 5 Charging Case is sold separately at $99. The case gives a full day of battery in 10 minutes, and without it the ring charges in about 80 minutes.
- Con: Gold, Deep Rose, Stealth and Brushed Silver cost $499, $100 more than the Silver and Black finishes.
RingConn Gen 2 vs Oura Ring 5
This is the matchup most buyers search for. The Gen 2 wins on price and running cost, and the Ring 5 wins only if you want Oura's full app and will pay for it. At 24 months on the annual plan the Ring 5 is $239.98 more than the Gen 2, and the Gen 2 claims a longer battery life (10 to 12 days against 6 to 9).
| Spec | RingConn Gen 2 | Oura Ring 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $299 | $399 |
| Monthly cost | $0 | $5.99 a month, or $69.99 a year |

| Water rating | IP68, 100 m | IP68, 100 m |

Oura's membership is the reason the Ring 5 costs more over time. Over two years the membership alone adds $139.98 to $143.76, which is more than the $100 price gap between the Ring 5 and the Gen 2.
RingConn Gen 2 vs Gen 2 Air
The Gen 2 Air is $100 cheaper than the Gen 2 at $199, and it is the cheapest way into RingConn's ring line. Its page also lists the subscription fee as free. The trade is in the sensors and the battery. RingConn's own comparison table lists the Gen 2 Air at 10 days of battery, with no sleep apnea pattern insights, and with a wired charging dock instead of a wireless case. The Gen 2 is the better choice if you want the full sleep feature set. The Air is the better choice if the price matters more than the feature list.

|---|---|---|
| US price | $299 | $199 |

Smart rings without a subscription
All three RingConn rings on this page carry no membership fee on RingConn's own pages: the Gen 2 at $299, the Gen 2 Air at $199 and the Gen 3, which costs $50 more than the Gen 2. Both Oura rings are subscription rings. An Oura can still be worth the money if the Oura app is the reason you want the ring. If your goal is the lowest cost per year, a RingConn is the answer.
Which is cheapest after 1 and 2 years?
Oura charges a membership on top of the ring. RingConn charges nothing after the purchase. The table below adds the device price to the plan cost for 12 and 24 months, in the same order as the ranking.
| Setup | Plan cost, 12 months | Total, 12 months | Plan cost, 24 months | Total, 24 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. RingConn Gen 2, $299, no plan | $0.00 | $299.00 | $0.00 | $299.00 |
| 2. RingConn Gen 3, $349, no plan | $0.00 | $349.00 | $0.00 | $349.00 |

| 3. Oura Ring 4, $349 (Silver), membership billed monthly at $5.99 | $71.88 | $420.88 | $143.76 | $492.76 |
| 4. Oura Ring 5, $399, membership billed annually at $69.99 | $69.99 | $468.99 | $139.98 | $538.98 |
| 4. Oura Ring 5, $399, membership billed monthly at $5.99 | $71.88 | $470.88 | $143.76 | $542.76 |
Dupple data: computed from vendor prices on November 3, 2026. Oura annual: $69.99 for one year, and $69.99 times 2, which is $139.98, for two years. Oura monthly: $5.99 times 12, which is $71.88, and $5.99 times 24, which is $143.76. Each total adds the ring's price. The Oura Ring 4 rows use its Silver price, read on November 3, 2026, and the Stealth and Gold prices are in the first table. The Ring 5 uses its Silver or Black finish. The RingConn totals have no plan cost, as RingConn's pages describe. The table assumes Oura's prices hold in the second year, and it leaves out the $99 charging case and Oura's free first month.
Over 24 months on the annual plan the Ring 4 costs $488.98 at its Silver price, which is $189.98 more than the Gen 2. The Ring 5 costs $538.98, which is $239.98 more than the Gen 2 and $50.00 more than the Ring 4. Choosing monthly billing adds $3.78 over two years on either ring. If you buy the Ring 5 charging case, add $99 to its total. Oura's first month is free for new members, which would cut about $5.99 from year one on monthly billing, but the membership page does not say how that applies to the annual plan.
Battery and charging
Both RingConn rings claim longer battery life than either Oura ring, and the gap matters if you travel or forget to charge. RingConn says the Gen 2 lasts 10 to 12 days on a full charge, and it also claims up to 150 days with the charging case. Oura says the Ring 5 lasts 6 to 9 days and the Ring 4 lasts 5 to 8 days, depending on ring size and use. Oura says the Ring 5 charges in about 80 minutes.
These are the makers' own claims, and they depend on use. Oura's page says battery life depends on ring size, app settings, feature configuration, activity and battery age. The Gen 3 claims the longest figure here, up to 14 days with vibration off, and 10 to 12 days with vibration on.
Sizing and fit
Both makers sell their rings in sizes, and both tell you to use their own kit. RingConn says its sizes differ from standard rings and from other smart ring brands, and that the Free Sizing Kit arrives 3 to 8 days after you order. RingConn recommends wearing the sizing ring for at least 24 hours, including overnight, before you choose. Oura recommends its own sizing kit before you pick a size, and its page warns that the sizes differ slightly from standard ring sizes.
The cost of a wrong size is real. RingConn says a ring that is too tight or too loose is not suitable for accurate data measurement. The sizing kit is non-refundable, and its shipping costs $10.
Warranty and returns
RingConn gives its rings a 1-year warranty outside the European Economic Area and a 2-year warranty inside it, and the warranty does not cover battery replacement. Oura's warranty for new products is one year from the date of purchase, according to its warranty FAQ. RingConn's return policy is the tighter of the two. It allows returns and refunds within 14 calendar days only for a valid reason, you pay the return shipping, and refunds go back to the original payment method.

- Buy the Oura Ring 5 if you want Oura's newest ring and will pay more than the Ring 4 for it.
- Skip both Oura rings if you do not want a yearly fee on top of the ring.
FAQ
Does RingConn need a subscription?
No. RingConn's Gen 2 product page lists the subscription fee as free, and the Gen 3 page says "No Subscription Required". The Gen 2 Air's comparison table also lists its subscription fee as free, so none of the three RingConn rings in this comparison carries a monthly charge on the makers' pages.
What does the Oura membership cost, and what stops working without it?
Oura charges $5.99 a month or $69.99 a year before tax for US members, according to its membership page. New members get their first month free. Without an active membership you see only three daily scores, Readiness, Activity and Sleep, while the ring battery, profile and app settings still work. If you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the billing cycle.

The RingConn Gen 3 claims the longest figure, up to 14 days with vibration off. The Gen 2 claims 10 to 12 days, the Oura Ring 5 claims 6 to 9 days, and the Oura Ring 4 claims 5 to 8 days. Battery life varies with ring size and use, so treat every figure as the maker's claim.
How does RingConn sizing work?
RingConn offers a Free Sizing Kit, and the kit arrives 3 to 8 days after you order. Wear the sizing ring for at least 24 hours before you choose. The kit costs $10 to ship and cannot be refunded, so settle the size before you order the ring.
What is RingConn's return policy?
RingConn accepts returns and refunds within 14 calendar days from delivery, but only for a valid reason. Sizing kits are non-refundable. You pay the return shipping unless the ring is defective or damaged, and refunds go back to the original payment method only.
Can I pay for a RingConn with HSA or FSA funds?
RingConn's Gen 2 page says the ring is HSA/FSA eligible and that its Flex checkout accepts HSA and FSA cards for eligible customers. The savings depend on the individual, so check with your plan administrator before you pay.
Does Oura have a warranty?
Yes. Oura's warranty FAQ says new products are free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. RingConn gives one year outside the EEA and two years inside it, and it does not cover battery replacement.
Methodology
We compared the makers' US pages on November 3, 2026. For RingConn, we read each product page with the Shopify store set to the US, which showed USD prices. For Oura, we read the Ring 5 store page, its charging case page and its membership page with the store set to USD. The Ring 4 prices, read November 3, 2026 from the Silver, Stealth and Gold finish pages in the US view in USD, are the ones in the first table and in card 3.
