Dupple card: the five ranked monitors in order; prices are in the table. Photos from UPERFECT's own store.

1. Arzopa Z1RC: the sharpest screen at or under $150

Dupple spec card for Arzopa Z1RC: $149.99, list $199.99 (Nov 3, 2026), 2560 x 1600 16:10, 350 nits and 60 Hz, 1.79 lb with built-in stand.
Dupple spec card

$149.99, list $199.99, on Arzopa's US store, read November 3, 2026. The store sells a bag bundle under a Halloween Deal label as a separate listing. This card uses the monitor alone.

The page gives a 2560 x 1600 panel in a 16:10 shape, 350 nits of brightness and 123% sRGB colour coverage. Its spec table gives a 60 Hz refresh rate and a net weight of 1.79 lb. The built-in adjustable stand also supports portrait mode.

Pros:

  • It has the highest resolution of the three models at or under $150, so text is sharper than on the 1080p screens.
  • At 350 nits it is brighter than the espresso (300 nits) and the UPERFECT BE156VF (250 nits).
  • It costs $149.01 less than the espresso, which has fewer pixels (1920 x 1080).

Cons: It costs $70.00 more than the Arzopa A1 and $20.00 more than the UPERFECT BE156VF. Its page does not say in words whether one cable carries both power and video; its spec table lists two USB-C ports that support PD power supply and DP output.

Best for: coders, spreadsheet users and anyone who reads long documents on a second screen.

2. Arzopa A1: the cheapest 15.6 inch with 250 nits stated

Dupple spec card for Arzopa A1 15.6 inch: $79.99, list $149.99 (Nov 3, 2026), 250 nits and 60 Hz, 742 g and 9.3 mm thin, two USB-C ports and HDMI.
Dupple spec card

$79.99 for the Black model, list $149.99, on Arzopa's US store, read November 3, 2026. The Gray model is $87.99 on the same page.

The page gives a 15.6 inch Full HD IPS panel, 9.3 mm thin and weighing 742 g (1.64 lb). It lists 250 nits, 60 Hz and 65% sRGB, plus a multi-angle stand, two USB-C ports and an HDMI port. Its FAQ says one USB-C cable can carry power and video.

Pros:

  • It is the lowest price on the list by $50.00 against the UPERFECT BE156VF.
  • At 742 g it is lighter than the Z1RC (1.79 lb) and the BE156VF (0.91 kg).
  • Its page names laptops, PCs, game consoles and smartphones as devices it connects to, through its two USB-C ports and HDMI port.

Cons: Its 65% sRGB is below the BE156VF's 72% and the Z1RC's 123%. The Gray colour costs $8.00 more than the Black.

Best for: a budget second screen for documents and video, with one USB-C cable for power and video, per its FAQ.

3. UPERFECT BE156VF: the budget 15.6 inch with a VESA mount

UPERFECT BE156VF 15.6 inch portable monitor on its folding stand, front view, black with a blue and purple wave on the screen.
Image: UPERFECT

$129.99, list $199.99, on UPERFECT's US store, read November 3, 2026. The page shows the model in stock.

The spec table gives a 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080 IPS panel at 60 Hz, 250 nits and 72% sRGB. It has a VESA 75 x 75 mount on the back for a wall or desk arm, and is 12 mm (0.47 inch) thin. The spec table gives a net weight of 0.91 kg (2.01 lb). Its copy says 300 cd/m2 where its spec table says 250 nits; this page uses the table.

Pros:

  • Its VESA mount, printed on the product page, lets it sit on a wall or a monitor arm.
  • Its 72% sRGB is above the 65% on the Arzopa A1.
  • The page gives a 30-day risk-free trial and a 2-year warranty policy, both printed on the product page.

Cons: It matches the A1's 1080p, 250 nits and 60 Hz at a higher price, and weighs more (2.01 lb against 1.64 lb). The spec table lists two USB-C ports, one HDMI and one micro USB OTG; the copy adds that a Type-C cable carries video, audio and power.

Best for: a 15.6 inch second screen on a wall or arm, on a budget that stops at about $130.

4. espresso Display 15: one USB-C cable, at about twice the Z1RC's price

Dupple spec card for espresso Display 15: $299, 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, 300 nits, one USB-C cable, magnetic stand included.
Dupple spec card

$299 on espresso's US store, read November 3, 2026. The page shows no list price. It can also be paid in four payments of $74.75, which is a payment plan, not a discount.

The page gives a 1920 x 1080 panel at 60 Hz with 300 nits, and says the display is powered by a single USB-C cable. The box includes a magnetic stand (the Stand+) and a 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable. The page gives 1.68 lb for the display plus a 20 oz Stand+.

Pros:

  • Its page says one USB-C cable carries both power and video.
  • The stand is in the box, so no second purchase is needed to prop the screen up.
  • Its 300 nits beat the UPERFECT BE156VF's 250 nits.

Cons: At $299 it costs $149.01 more than the Arzopa Z1RC, which has more pixels. Its 1920 x 1080 panel has the same pixel count as the UPERFECT BE156VF, which costs less than half as much. The page does not name the panel type.

Best for: someone who wants one cable and a stand in the box, and will pay for that.

5. UPERFECT MX16BU: the OLED option for MacBooks, on pre-order

UPERFECT MX16BU 16 inch OLED portable monitor on its stand, angled view, silver frame with a blue and white wave on the screen.
Image: UPERFECT

$429.99, list $499.99, on UPERFECT's US store, read November 3, 2026. The product page describes the model as a pre-order, with pre-orders shipping at the end of November.

The page gives a 16 inch 2880 x 1800 OLED panel at 60 Hz, 450 cd/m2 brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour, with a 30000:1 contrast ratio. It is not a touch screen, and it has a stand holder. The product copy says it is made for MacBook Pro and Air.

Pros:

  • It has the highest resolution (2880 x 1800, the most pixels of the five) and the highest brightness (450 nits) of the five.
  • Its page states 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, a wide-gamut figure for colour work.
  • Its page names MacBook Pro and Air as the devices it is made for.

Cons: At $429.99 it costs $280.00 more than the Arzopa Z1RC. Ordering now means shipping at the end of November, according to its own page. The page gives no weight and no port list.

Best for: MacBook owners who want an OLED second screen and can wait for it.

ASUS ZenScreen MB16AH: not ranked

Dupple spec card for ASUS ZenScreen MB16AH: see the official store, 15.6 inch Full HD IPS, 250 cd/m2 and 60 Hz, 0.73 kg without stand.
Dupple spec card

ASUS sells the ZenScreen MB16AH as a portable monitor, and its US product page at asus.com/us lists the specs. That page shows no price, and its buy links point to ASUS parts and account pages rather than to the model. We could not read a US price for it on ASUS's own store, so the price is "see the official store" and the model has no rank.

The spec sheet gives a 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080 IPS panel, 250 cd/m2 typical brightness, a 60 Hz maximum refresh and 0.73 kg without the stand. It has one USB-C port for video (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) and a micro HDMI port. The box includes a power adapter, so the spec sheet does not show a one-cable setup.

Cons: No price to compare, a power adapter in the box rather than a single cable on the spec sheet, and the same 60 Hz refresh as the espresso and the BE156VF.

UPERFECT vs Arzopa: which one for a laptop

The UPERFECT BE156VF costs $20.00 less than the Arzopa Z1RC and $50.00 more than the Arzopa A1. You get a 15.6 inch 1080p screen at 250 nits with a VESA mount, against a 16 inch 2560 x 1600 screen at 350 nits with a built-in stand. Buy the Z1RC if sharp text is the job. Buy the BE156VF if the screen goes on a wall or arm, or if $20 matters more than the extra pixels. The Arzopa A1 has the same 1080p, 250 nits and 60 Hz at a lower price, so the BE156VF's case rests on its VESA mount and 72% sRGB.

UPERFECT BE156VF against the two Arzopa models, from the vendor pages read November 3, 2026
Model Resolution Brightness Price
UPERFECT BE156VF 1920 x 1080 250 nits $129.99
Arzopa Z1RC 2560 x 1600 350 nits $149.99
Arzopa A1 1920 x 1080 250 nits $79.99

If you want the same 250 nits and 60 Hz for less, the Arzopa A1 is the cheaper route. If you need a VESA mount, the UPERFECT BE156VF is the model that has one.

espresso Display 15 vs Arzopa Z1RC: one cable or more pixels

Choose the espresso if you want a stand in the box and the single USB-C cable its page describes for power and video, and you will pay $149.01 more for it. The Z1RC has sharper text (2560 x 1600 against 1920 x 1080) and a brighter panel (350 nits against 300), and it costs $149.01 less. Its spec table lists two USB-C ports that support PD power supply and DP output, so check that your laptop's USB-C port carries video before you decide on the cable question.

ASUS ZenScreen MB16AH vs Arzopa A1

Both are 15.6 inch Full HD IPS panels. The ZenScreen lists 250 cd/m2 and a 60 Hz refresh, and the A1 page lists 250 nits and 60 Hz too. The ZenScreen weighs 0.73 kg without its stand, against 742 g for the A1, and its box includes a power adapter. The A1 is the cheapest priced model on this list, but the ZenScreen has no US price we could read on ASUS's site, so it cannot be ranked on cost.

Best portable monitor for MacBook

The MacBook query is small, at about 80 US searches a month in our keyword data, but it is the one where OLED pays off. The UPERFECT MX16BU has the highest resolution (2880 x 1800), the highest brightness (450 nits) and its page states 100% DCI-P3 colour (the Z1RC's page states 123% sRGB, a different measure). It costs $429.99 and, per its page, ships at the end of November as a pre-order. A MacBook owner who needs a screen this month should look at the Arzopa Z1RC at $149.99 first.

Which is cheapest?

The cheapest model on the list is the Arzopa A1 (Black) at $79.99, and it also states 250 nits and 60 Hz on its page. The cheapest model with a sharper-than-1080p screen is the Arzopa Z1RC at $149.99. The espresso is priced at about twice the Z1RC. Two other pages say one USB-C cable can carry power and video (the A1's FAQ and the BE156VF's copy), and the Z1RC's spec table lists PD power supply and DP output on its USB-C ports.

Dupple data: computed from vendor prices on November 3, 2026. The espresso costs $219.01 more than the A1 (its price minus the A1's price), and the Z1RC costs $70.00 more than the A1. None of the five pages we read lists a subscription or a required accessory, so the price on the day is the whole cost.

Who should buy which

  • Documents, spreadsheets and code on a budget: the Arzopa Z1RC, the sharpest screen at or under $150.
  • The cheapest model with a stated brightness: the Arzopa A1.
  • A wall or arm mount under $130: the UPERFECT BE156VF.
  • One cable and a stand in the box: the espresso Display 15, if its price is fine.
  • A MacBook owner who will wait for OLED: the UPERFECT MX16BU.

If you want a display you wear instead of a second screen, the XREAL, VITURE and RayNeo comparison covers that option. If the laptop is also your local AI box, the best mini PCs for local LLMs pair well with a screen like these.

FAQ

Which portable monitor is best for a laptop in 2026?

For most people, the Arzopa Z1RC at $149.99 (list $199.99), read on Arzopa's US store on November 3, 2026. It has a 16 inch 2560 x 1600 screen at 350 nits and weighs 1.79 lb. If you want a stand in the box and one USB-C cable for power and video, the espresso Display 15 is the premium option.

Is the UPERFECT BE156VF worth it over the Arzopa A1?

It costs $50.00 more ($129.99 against $79.99). Both pages give 1080p, 250 nits and a 60 Hz refresh. The BE156VF adds a VESA mount and 72% sRGB against the A1's 65%, but it weighs more (2.01 lb against 1.64 lb). Buy the BE156VF if the screen goes on a wall or arm. Buy the A1 if the lowest price matters most.

Do I need a USB-C cable that carries power and video?

It depends on your laptop, but several of these pages say one USB-C cable can do it. The espresso Display 15's page says one cable powers the screen and carries the video. The Arzopa A1's FAQ says the same, and the UPERFECT BE156VF's copy says a Type-C cable carries video, audio and power. The Arzopa Z1RC's spec table lists two USB-C ports with PD power supply and DP output. Check that your laptop supports video output over USB-C before you buy any of them.

Which portable monitor works with a MacBook?

The UPERFECT MX16BU is the model its page names for MacBook Pro and Air. It is a 16 inch 2880 x 1800 OLED at 450 nits, priced at $429.99 on UPERFECT's US store, and ships at the end of November as a pre-order. The Z1RC is the lower-cost option at $149.99. Check that your Mac supports video over USB-C either way.

Is there a discount code for these portable monitors?

We were not given a promo code for these brands, so each price on this page is the vendor's own list or sale price, read on November 3, 2026. Check the cart for any code the store offers on the day you buy. For the BE156VF, UPERFECT's store page shows the price read on November 3, 2026.

Why is the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AH not ranked?

Because we could not read a US price for it on ASUS's own store, and the ranking uses price. Its specs are in its section above. Check the official store for the current price before you decide.

Which portable monitor has the best brightness?

Of the five ranked models, the UPERFECT MX16BU states the highest figure: 450 cd/m2, on its product page read November 3, 2026. The Arzopa Z1RC is next at 350 nits, then the espresso at 300. The BE156VF and the A1 both state 250 nits.

Do portable monitors need a separate stand?

Not on this list. The Z1RC has a built-in adjustable stand, the espresso includes a magnetic stand, and the A1 has a multi-angle stand. The BE156VF has a VESA mount for a stand or a wall arm, and the ASUS MB16AH's sleeve folds into a stand.

Methodology

We compared the five ranked monitors on the panel specs a laptop user needs: resolution, brightness, whether one USB-C cable carries power and video, and weight. The Z1RC is first as the only model above 1080p at or under $150. The other four follow by ascending US price (A1 $79.99, BE156VF $129.99, espresso $299, MX16BU $429.99). VESA mount and stand do not move a rank. A model with no readable US price is listed but not ranked.

The order follows from that. The Z1RC is first: the highest resolution of the three models at or under $150, with 350 nits, at $149.99. The A1 is second: it matches the BE156VF's 1080p, 250 nits and 60 Hz for $50.00 less, and its FAQ says one USB-C cable carries power and video. The BE156VF is third: the same panel at a higher price, with a VESA mount and 72% sRGB as its edges. The espresso is fourth: one-cable power and video and 300 nits, but the priciest 1080p model here. The MX16BU is fifth: it has the strongest specs but the highest price, so it ranks last, and it is a pre-order.

Affiliate status did not decide any rank. Two of the five models are UPERFECT products sold through its Impact program, and they sit third and fifth because of their specs and price. Prices were read on November 3, 2026, with the US market forced: Shopify stores through their US view and product data, and the espresso store through its US product page. None of these monitors was tested hands-on. Prices are re-checked after each major sale and on the next monthly pass.
