Shopify uses a Subscription pricing model. Current pricing: $29/mo (Basic), $79/mo (Shopify), $299/mo (Advanced).

• Starter: $5/month. Sell via social media and messaging apps. No full online store. Good for testing the waters.
• Basic: $39/month ($29/month billed annually). Full online store, 2 staff accounts, basic reports. Online credit card rate: 2.9% + 30 cents.
• Shopify (Grow): $105/month ($79/month billed annually). 5 staff accounts, professional reports, lower card rates at 2.6% + 30 cents.
• Advanced: $399/month ($299/month billed annually). 15 staff accounts, custom reports, computed shipping rates, lowest card rates at 2.4% + 30 cents.
• Plus: Starting at $2,300/month. Enterprise-grade features, dedicated support, custom checkout, and B2B capabilities.

All plans include a 3-day free trial. The Basic plan works for most new stores. You'll likely need the Grow plan once you hit consistent sales and want better reporting. Advanced makes sense at high volume where the lower transaction rates save meaningful money.

The honest answer: Shopify delivers solid value for teams that need its specific feature set. On the downside, pricing climbs at higher tiers, so evaluate against expected volume.
