Sora has a powerful feature that allows creators to produce short video clips.

The Storyboard gives you granular control over the video you want to create. You can easily map out scenes, adjust timing, and customize transitions, making editing more intuitive. Whether you're crafting an engaging social media post or a professional project, the flexibility of Storyboard helps bring your vision to life with precision. It's a game-changer for anyone looking to create high-quality content quickly.

This tutorial shows you how to use the storyboard feature to create short videos in Sora. It will delve into the editing tools to make your videos look professional.

Let’s create some high-quality videos!

Step 1 - Access the storyboard and configure it for a 10-second video

The storyboard is right there in the lower right corner of the prompt input box. Just click on it, and you'll be taken to a page that looks like a video editor. This is where the magic happens! You can drag and drop your video clips, rearrange them, tweak the timing, and add transitions or effects. It’s super easy to use and lets you see how everything flows before you finish. So, play around with it, adjust things, and make sure your video is just the way you want it!

Don’t just start writing the prompt in the frame. Let’s set it up for maximum video output. 

First, decide what you want to create a video for. Clarify the concept you want to use in the video. Then, decide on the aspect ratio. The 16:9 ratio is for YouTube shorts, and the 9:16 ratio is for Instagram reels. For a high-quality video, select 720p.

For this tutorial, we will create a 10-second video. Right now, we cannot choose 720p duration for a 10-second video. Select the number of variations you’d like for your video. Right now, we can choose only one variation. You can select a preset from the preset menu if you want to use it. We are using none for our video.

Once everything is ready, we can start writing the prompt. 

Step 2 - Write detailed prompts for the frames

A great video clip requires prompts written in greater detail. You must consider the camera angle, lighting intensity, and minute details describing the scene, such as a drop of water falling, the light reflecting on the drop from the south, and similar information. However, this level of detail requires sharp focus and enough time to perfect. 

To avoid this labor-intensive task, we can get help. You can choose between ChatGPT and Claude AI. Although ChatGPT perfectly creates a detailed prompt, we will choose Claude AI because of the level of detail it can handle when creating a prompt. We found that it generates a better prompt than ChatGPT. 

Go to Claude.ai and choose an explanatory style.

Use the following prompt to generate a prompt for Sora. 

Prompt:

Create a detailed prompt for a video—the high close-up, featuring a striking contrast between the organic and metallic. The view reveals the metallic silver scarab beetle resting delicately on the palm of a human hand. The beetle's exoskeleton is mirror-like, capturing the distorted image of a starry universe with a vibrant galaxy detailed at its center. Its segmented body and tiny, articulated antennae exude lifelike intricacy, shining with a polished chrome appearance. The soft, natural texture of the skin beneath enhances the aesthetic. The interplay between the beetle's brilliance and the skin's softness creates a harmonious visual symphony, inviting contemplation of the mysterious and otherworldly.

Copy the text from the opening frame and paste it into the first frame of your storyboard in Sora.

Let’s move on to the next frame. Click the frame in the sixth second. Since the video is 10 seconds long, we need to create a second prompt for the remaining 5 seconds.

Another prompt window will appear in the main clip display area.

Let’s go back to Claude AI and ask it to write a subsequent prompt for the second frame in our video.

Leave the headline and copy the entire text. Paste it in the second frame you created.

Read it out loud. Go over the text and rewrite parts you’re not satisfied with. Take your time. The patience will pay once the video is generated. After reviewing the text, click the ‘Create’ button to generate the video.

Sora will take a minute and a half to prepare and generate the video. It will parse the text and transform it into a masterpiece as you anxiously wait for the final results with bated breath.

That came out breathtakingly amazing. The level of detail in the video is incredible. The creases of the hand and the shiny metallic look of the scarab truly shine through the video. 

Step 3 - Remix the video for a professional look

The video was great. Let's remix it into something better. Click ‘Remix’ at the bottom of the video player.

Select ‘Strong remix’ and choose two variations. This will ensure that we get two different videos with a strong remix.

Use the following prompt for the remix.

Prompt:

Create an almost imperceptible tremor in the beetle's antennae. These delicate appendages, rather than simply being chrome-plated, appear to be made from liquid metal, moving with an organic fluidity that defies their metallic nature. As they sense something we cannot, the wing casings begin to part.
