Veo 3 is making waves in the creative world with its ultra-crisp, high-quality video generation. As AI tools continue to push boundaries, Veo 3 has quickly become a favorite among creators and educators alike, especially for producing stunning one-shot ads that look professionally made, without the production hassle.

This is a crash tutorial to get started with Veo 3 quickly. In this tutorial, we’ll teach you how to access and set up Veo 3, craft a prompt for a single-shot ad using ChatGPT’s custom ‘VEO3 prompt architect’ and use it to generate the video. You’ll also learn to edit the videos using follow-up prompts and export them in MP4 format for wider platform support.

Step 1 - Access and set up Gemini for Veo3

You can now access Veo 3 with a Google Gemini Pro or a Google AI plan. Veo 3 is not available for free. You must pay for a Pro account to access it. Go to Gemini and click ‘Video’ at the bottom of the chat box. 

Since Veo 3 is still in preview mode, you can generate an 8-second video with sound.

Step 2 - Use a custom GPT to craft a prompt

Since the Pro users have a limited preview of Veo 3, we will use a professional prompt maker to create our one-shot ad video. Go to ChatGPT and click the ‘GPTs’ link in the menu bar on the left. 

Click the search box and search for ‘Veo3 prompt architect’ GPTs.

Click ‘Veo 3 prompt architect’ in the suggested list. This is the best prompt maker available in GPTs right now. Click ‘Start chat.’

Now comes the fun part. Describe the scene for the ad video you want to make and add details. Basically, you need to tell the prompt maker what you want in the ad. It will generate a prompt for you to use in Veo 3. Here’s a sample prompt for you to test out Veo 3.

Prompt:

Write a prompt for a video with a big foot sitting on a jungle log. Light shining through trees. She is flicking the phone, swiping her fingers up. Then, as the camera zooms in, she says, ' ABCAI academy does AI right. They show you how to use AI the right way. Go to abcai.com. Make this for an 8-second shot.

It will generate a detailed prompt with categories for each aspect of the video. This helps create the video that follows the prompt. This level of detail is necessary to generate the best one-shot video ad.  

Go back to Gemini and paste the prompt in the prompt box. You can add more details to your prompt. In fact, it’s a good practice to read the prompt carefully and edit it; shorten it or add more information. 

Here are the results.

It followed the prompt. However, there is a small glitch. As you can see the dialogue starts at the beginning of the video without the character moving its lips. We will fix that shortly.

Step 3 - Edit the videos with follow-up prompts

As you can see, the video has a slight glitch. The dialogue starts right away, probably due to the 8-second constraint. So, we can use a follow-up prompt to edit the video and ask Veo 3 to make the changes. 

Prompt:

Change the female Bigfoot to male Bigfoot. Use a heavy voice in an American accent. Start the dialogue when the camera zooms in and stop?

Here are the results of the edits we asked Gemini to do to the previously generated video. 

Depending on the number of videos you can make with Veo 3, you can do more follow-up prompts.

Step 4 - Export the video

Exporting the video is incredibly easy. Just click the download button at the top right corner of the generated video and click ‘Download.’

That’s it for this tutorial. At the time of writing this tutorial, Veo 3 is still being rolled out worldwide. You might not be able to access Veo 3 in your country. However, if you do, you can create amazing videos. Also, there is a limit of 3 videos per day. That means you can generate only 03 videos in a day.
