Set strategic goals

Strategies are mostly about setting goals. The next step is to identify specific, measurable goals that are aligned with your vision. These could be related to growth, revenue, innovation, or customer satisfaction. Do not ask ChatGPT to give you everything. Identify the primary goals that align with your company's objectives.

Based on the vision for {name of your company}, identify specific, measurable goals aligned with the company's vision that you suggested. Of course, you can create strategic goals based on different vision objectives. It depends on what you want to do and which area should be in focus. 

Assess strategy options

Once you’ve finalized the goals, it's time to choose potential strategic options, such as product development, market expansion, cost leadership, and partnerships. It is advisable not to pursue all options. Prioritize your options based on feasibility and expected impact. 

Before writing your prompt, change the ChatGPT model to o3. 

Prompt:

Use advanced prompt techniques, including few-shot reasoning, contextual grounding, and goal-oriented planning. Based on the context, such as industry type, company size, current challenges, available resources, competitive landscape, and long-term objectives, generate 3 to 5 well-defined strategic options that {name of your company} could pursue. For each option, include a clear objective, the rationale behind it, potential risks, and expected outcomes. Ensure the strategies are actionable, align with the company's mission and capabilities, and consider both short-term impact and long-term growth. Write in a clear, concise, and decision-oriented tone, suitable for presentation to leadership teams.

This came out pretty well. ChatGPT broke down the information and provided different options for each objective.

Develop an action plan.

Combine all the information generated by ChatGPT into an action plan. Break down strategies into actionable steps, including timelines, responsibilities, and key performance indicators (KPIs). For example, 'Launch new product line by Q3, 2025, led by product team, measured by initial sales figures.

Act as an operations strategist. Based on the strategic goal you just provided, break it down into a detailed action plan that includes clear, actionable steps. For each step, specify the responsible team or role, a realistic timeline or deadline, and a measurable KPI to track success. That's a fantastic documentation you have created. Review the answers, make changes, and share them with your team. You can ask ChatGPT to refine the answer, provide downloadable PDFs, etc.

Once you refine and implement the action plan, use insights and feedback to refine goals or tactics for continuous development.
