Learn how to transform a long list of boring ideas into an attractive, colorful, logical and organized diagram thanks to AI.

Mind maps are powerful tools for brainstorming and organizing ideas visually. With Claude AI, creating and editing mind maps becomes even more efficient and visually appealing.

This tutorial will guide you through the process of creating a mind map to get ideas on any subject.

Key Objectives:

  1. Define the purpose of the mind map.
  2. Generate a comprehensive mind map for the topic of your choice.
  3. Customize and enhance the mind map using Claude AI’s features.
  4. Integrate additional knowledge and data from various sources (optional).

Defining the purpose of the mind map

First, you need to go to Claude and if you don't already have one create an account (free or not).

Before you start your mind map, you need to know exactly what it's going to cover and what its final objective is. When working with AI, the main role of human beings is to know what they want.

Identify the main topic:

Determine the central topic for your mind map. For this tutorial, we'll focus on "AI YouTube Content Ideas." This will be the root node of your mind map.

Set the objectives:

Define what you want to achieve with this mind map. For example:

  • Brainstorming content ideas.
  • Organizing topics into categories.
  • Identifying potential interviewees and resources.

In our case, we want new content ideas.

Generating the mind map

With your objectives and topic in mind, it's now time to generate the mind map!

First, we need a mind map template we will give to Claude. You can either find one on the internet, or use the one we will use in this tutorial.

Now give the image to Claude and use the following prompt to create the mind map.

Using the mind map template I gave you, create a mind map with Artifacts, brainstorming content ideas for [what you want]. I want the visual to be detailed. Use bright colors to make things easy to understand.

Not happy with the way the ideas are mapped?

Use the following prompt:

Now give me several ways to organize ideas regarding [topic]

In my case, I'll choose to organize my mind map by content format.

Improving and customizing the mind map

A quick win when you want to improve something is often to just ask the AI what could be improved:

How could I improve this mind map?

Not enough ideas?

Use this prompt:

List me ideas I could add.

Want to add categories and subcategories?

Use this prompt:

Add subtopics [subtopic 1] [subtopic 2] and [subtopic 3] under [category 1].

Want to rename a category?

Use this prompt:

Rename [category name] to [new name]

Here's what I got (there's a LOT of ideas):

Integrating additional knowledge (optional)

This part is optional as you would rarely need additional knowledge.

Here's a few knowledge sources you can use to enhance your mind map:

- Previous brainstorming sessions (text or images)

- Competitor analysis

- Industry reports

- Academic data

- Internal data

Since there's no need for any of these in my case, I won't be able to do it. The idea is just to give your data and ask Claude to take it into account in the mind map.
