Generate your ebook content with Claude
Before diving into the design process, you need to create the core content of your eBook. For this, we'll use Claude. Follow these steps to go from raw notes to well-structured eBook chapters.
Organize and upload your notes
The first step is to gather and organize your notes. These might be lecture notes, research material, or even brainstormed ideas. Once your notes are organized into a cohesive document, upload it to Claude. It’s important to give Claude clear instructions in the prompt so that it understands your vision for the eBook.
Sample Prompt:
You are tasked with generating all the content for an e-book based on uploaded notes about a user-defined topic. Follow these instructions carefully to create a comprehensive and well-structured e-book.
1. The user-defined topic for the e-book is: [insert topic]
2. Attached are my notes about the topic.
3. Analyze the notes and organize the content:
a. Identify the main themes and subtopics within the notes.
b. Create an outline of the key points and their relationships.
c. Determine the logical flow of information for the e-book.
4. Cate the e-book structure:
a. Develop a table of contents with chapters and subheadings.
b. Ensure that the structure covers all important aspects of the topic.
c. Aim for a balanced distribution of content across chapters.
5. Write the content for each section of the e-book:
a. Begin with an engaging introduction that outlines the purpose and scope of the e-book.
b. For each chapter:
b1. Write a brief introduction to the chapter's topic.
b2. Expand on the key points identified in the notes.
b3. Provide detailed explanations, examples, and context where necessary.
b4. Ensure smooth transitions between sections and ideas.
c. Conclude each chapter with a summary of the main points.
d. Write a comprehensive conclusion that ties together the main themes of the e-book.
6. Review and refine the content:
a. Ensure consistency in tone, style, and terminology throughout the e-book.
b. Check for any gaps in information and fill them as needed.
c. Verify that all content is relevant to the main topic and supports the e-book's purpose.
7. Format the final e-book content:
a. Use appropriate headings and subheadings to structure the content.
b. Include a title page with the e-book title and a brief description.
c. Add page numbers and format the table of contents.
d. If applicable, include a glossary of terms and an index.
8. Output the generated e-book content:
Present the final e-book content in the following format:
[e-book title]
[brief description]
[table of contents with chapters and subheadings]
[the full content of the e-book, including all chapters, sections, and formatting]
[glossary of terms, if applicable]
[index, if applicable]
Remember to maintain a professional and engaging writing style throughout the e-book, catering to the intended audience for the given topic.
Ensure that the content is well-organized, informative, and provides value to the reader.

While Claude is highly capable, it can only handle a limited amount of content at a time due to token constraints. To generate the full eBook, you’ll need to ask Claude to "continue" once it has reached its limit.
As Claude generates each part, you can review and edit the content to ensure it fits your intended style and tone. If the AI stops generating content mid-section, simply prompt it to continue where it left off.
Pro tip: Always review the content for consistency and flow, ensuring that it aligns with your overall objectives for the eBook.
Design and format your ebook with Gamma
Once you have the content generated, it’s time to bring your eBook to life visually. For this, we turn to Gamma, an AI-powered design tool that allows you to create professional-looking documents effortlessly.

Setting up your project in Gamma

You can either paste the content you generated with Claude or upload it directly if you’ve saved it as a document. Gamma’s intuitive interface makes it easy to get started.

You can now modify a few details like Text content (we'll use the "Preserve" option here). You can incease the number of cards (which is the number of pages), and modify the format and the type of images that will be included.
If you’re using the free version of Gamma, keep in mind that there’s a 30-page limit per project. For larger eBooks, you can split the content across multiple projects and later merge them into one document using external PDF tools.

Once you're ready, click continue. You will land on a window where you will have to pick a theme. Pick the one you prefer!

Now it's time to generate the ebook! Here's what I got:

Edit and refine the content
Before exporting your eBook, take the time to read through each page carefully. Ensure that all content flows logically from one chapter to the next and that the overall message is clear. Make use of Gamma’s built-in editor to adjust any formatting issues or to tweak the design for a more polished look.
Download and export
Once you’re happy with your eBook, Gamma makes it easy to export your project. Simply click the “Share” button and select the option to download it as a PDF. This final version is now ready to be published or distributed as you see fit.
