Google's Team Pixel influencer program required influencers not to feature Pixel products alongside competitor devices, risking removal from the program for showing preference to other brands.
This stipulation caused outrage among influencers, many of whom posted screenshots of the agreement online and decided to leave the program due to the new restrictive terms.
Google admitted the new language in the #TeamPixel form was a mistake and has since removed it, clarifying that the press and creator review programs are distinct and have no such stipulations.

The San Francisco City Attorney is suing 16 AI-powered “undressing” websites that create non-consensual nude deepfakes, with over 200 million visits in the first half of 2024.
These sites allow users to upload photos of clothed individuals, which are then digitally altered to simulate nudity using AI technology.
The lawsuit claims the websites breach state and federal revenge porn laws and seeks civil penalties, their shutdown, and a ban on creating future deepfake pornography.
🌐 OpenAI says Iran tried to influence US elections with ChatGPTLINK
OpenAI has blocked multiple ChatGPT accounts connected to an Iranian influence campaign that created content related to the US presidential election, among other subjects.
The campaign, tied to Storm-2035, used ChatGPT for writing articles and social media posts on topics such as the Israel-Hamas war, Venezuelan politics, and US Latinx rights.
OpenAI reports that the operation had minimal impact, with most tracked posts receiving little to no engagement in terms of likes, shares, or comments.
🔋 MIT unveils hair-thin battery for tiny robotsLINK
MIT researchers have created a zinc-air battery with a thickness of just 0.002mm, a major advancement in powering tiny robots.
This ultra-thin battery can generate up to 1V of electricity, enabling miniature robots to perform complex tasks like drug delivery and pipeline inspection.
Although the current robots still require an external power device, the research team aims to develop a fully enclosed power source and increase its voltage output.
