The Intelsat-33e satellite, produced by Boeing and launched in 2016, disintegrated in geostationary orbit on October 19, resulting in a loss of service and creating numerous debris pieces.
This incident adds to a series of setbacks for Boeing, including NASA replacing its Starliner with SpaceX's Crew Dragon for ISS missions due to reliability concerns.
Intelsat has declared the satellite a total loss and is collaborating with Boeing and government agencies to investigate the failure, while working to move affected customers to other satellites.

Arm is ending an architectural licence agreement with Qualcomm, which allowed the latter to develop chips using Arm's intellectual property, amid ongoing litigation between the two companies.
The UK-based Arm, mainly owned by SoftBank Group, had sued Qualcomm for not renegotiating a licence after the acquisition of Nuvia, a chip design firm, valued at $1.4 billion in 2021.
The legal battle is set to be resolved in a Delaware federal court by December 2024, with potential impacts on Qualcomm's shipments and strategic investments if Arm prevails.
👓 Apple may stop Vision Pro production by end of 2024LINK
Apple has significantly reduced production of the Vision Pro headset and may cease manufacturing this version entirely by the end of 2024, according to The Information.
The demand for Vision Pro is reported to be low due to its high price and lack of content, leading to a surplus inventory of components for 500,000 to 600,000 headsets.
The company informed Luxshare, its assembler, about potentially ending production, but production lines could be restarted if sales improve, while Apple focuses on a lower-cost headset in the meantime.
