# Who Reads Cyberpresso? A Selected Subscriber Cohort

Who reads Cyberpresso? In a selected recent-clicker group, 220 resolved Cyberpresso addresses matched a Dupple quiz response; 35 of those records selected engineering. This snapshot, extracted on 5 November 2026, describes a narrow group of newer subscribers and is not a representative survey of the newsletter's entire audience.

*Published and updated 5 November 2026. Data extracted 5 November 2026.*

Dupple publishes Cyberpresso and sells sponsorships. Our data comes from its own engagement-segment cache and quiz records, and it has not been independently audited. Quiz role choices are self-reported and are not proof of security credentials, a job title or purchasing authority.

## The role counts we can publish

The [Cyberpresso role CSV](https://dupple.com/data/dupple-cyberpresso-engaged-quiz-roles-2026-11-05.csv) starts with resolved addresses last seen in the publication's configured engagement segment between 29 October and 4 November 2026 UTC. There were 251 distinct resolved addresses, of which 220 had a matching quiz record and 31 did not. Unresolved segment entries are excluded before the 251 count. The percentages below use the 220 matches.

*Self-reported roles in selected matched Cyberpresso subscribers, 5 November 2026, sources read 5 November 2026*

| Self-reported quiz role | Matched records | Share of 220 matches |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Other, selected in the quiz | 44 | 20.0% |
| Engineering | 35 | 15.9% |
| Remaining roles and missing role | 141 | 64.1% |

The final row combines individual role groups with fewer than 30 matched records, including missing answers. It is distinct from the quiz's explicit `other` response. Because 64.1% is pooled, this table cannot establish the size of each role in that remainder. The public file contains aggregate counts, not email addresses or individual click histories.

## How an address entered this file

The segment is configured for active Cyberpresso subscribers who signed up within 30 days and had at least one verified click during that period. Dupple's email-sequence system records when it last saw a subscription in the segment and resolves some subscription identifiers to addresses. The query keeps resolved addresses last observed in the seven-day UTC window and counts each normalized address once within this publication.

Those rules select recent signups with a recorded engagement condition. They exclude long-standing subscribers and non-clickers, as well as unresolved identifiers and records not seen during the stated window. The cache is not an independent audit of current segment membership: someone observed during the window may later leave it, and partial or failed synchronization can affect which records appear. No inference about excluded readers follows from their absence.

The [aggregation method](https://dupple.com/data/dupple-engaged-quiz-roles-method-2026-11-05.txt) associates each resolved address with the latest available Dupple quiz record. A stable record identifier breaks ties when creation times are equal. That answer can be older than the engagement window and can originate in another Dupple flow. Matching addresses does not prove that the quiz was completed through Cyberpresso or that the role is still current.

## What the engineering group means

Thirty-five of the 220 matched records selected engineering, giving 15.9% when the count is divided by the matched sample. It does not mean 15.9% of all Cyberpresso subscribers are engineers. The denominator excludes 31 resolved addresses without a matching quiz, every unresolved segment record and people outside the selected cache window. The roles of excluded records are unknown.

Engineering is a broad choice. It does not establish whether a person works in application security, infrastructure, incident response, threat intelligence or another specialty. It also does not identify a certification, employer, seniority or budget. A security practitioner might choose another role, and someone who selected engineering might not work in security. This file cannot count CISOs or estimate the number of security buyers in the mailing list.

The configured segment includes a verified-click condition, but the published aggregate does not examine each click or link it to an advertiser. It cannot say that the 35 engineering selections saw a particular issue or responded to a sponsorship. A click on a newsletter link is not automatically a qualified lead, a sale or evidence that a security product is suitable for the reader.

## Questions for a security advertiser

Define the security problem and the team responsible for evaluating the offer before selecting a placement. A tool for incident responders may need a different landing page from one for compliance teams. Ask what a reader can do after clicking and how the campaign will measure that action. Those are planning questions, not observations about the individual people represented in the table.

The [Cyberpresso advertising page](https://dupple.com/advertise/cyberpresso) describes the newsletter and its sponsorship options. A [Primary Ad](https://dupple.com/advertise/primary-ad) appears in an issue; a [Dedicated Send](https://dupple.com/advertise/dedicated-send) is a separate email. Confirm the format, available date, creative, sponsorship disclosure and report for the proposed campaign. No count in this sample guarantees delivery, engagement or an outcome.

The [newsletter buying guide](https://dupple.com/learn/how-to-buy-newsletter-ads) provides questions for comparing placements. The [sponsorship ROI guide](https://dupple.com/learn/measure-newsletter-sponsorship-roi) explains the need to define outcomes beyond a click, while the [Primary Ad guide](https://dupple.com/learn/what-is-a-primary-ad) describes one in-issue format. Dupple's [lead generation page](https://dupple.com/advertise/lead-generation) addresses a separate post-signup surface with its own targeting and reporting.

If a proposal depends on a country, company size or job function, ask for evidence that applies to the intended placement. The current file has no cross-tabs for those attributes. Its small selected cohort should not be used to assert the number of security leaders, predict lead quality or infer the audience for a particular advertiser's creative.

## Why the other snapshots cannot fill the gaps

The [network data hub](https://dupple.com/advertise/data) publishes quiz and offer aggregates with different selection rules. The [country mix](https://dupple.com/advertise/data/country-mix) comes from a network-wide quiz extract and does not identify the countries of the 220 matched Cyberpresso records. Its operational country values are not independently verified places of residence. Multiplying its country shares by this role table would not produce a valid cross-tab.

The [AI tools dataset](https://dupple.com/advertise/data/ai-tools-among-tech-readers) starts with technology-industry quiz respondents who answered an AI tools question, rather than this newsletter segment. It does not show which tools the selected Cyberpresso group uses. Likewise, the [Devshot cohort](https://dupple.com/advertise/data/who-reads-devshot) is drawn from another publication's cache; a single address could appear in both, and the exported data does not measure overlap.

The [Techpresso cohort](https://dupple.com/advertise/data/who-reads-techpresso) and [AIpresso cohort](https://dupple.com/advertise/data/who-reads-aipresso) have their own matched counts and exclusions. Combining publication totals would not count unique people. [daily.dev's audience page](https://business.daily.dev/audience/), checked 5 November 2026, describes a separate developer audience and is not a source for Cyberpresso's role counts. Compare sources only after checking population, dates and collection methods.

## What to retain in a future comparison

The selected group is small and most role categories are combined. A handful of added or removed matches can move a displayed percentage. The segment may change because of a sync, resolution of an address, a corrected quiz response or a change in eligibility. Record the resolved and unmatched counts, the observation window and the grouping threshold if publishing a refresh.

A role answer is not a current individual profile. People can change jobs, use several email addresses or share an address; an answer may describe only one of several responsibilities. This extract does not verify job titles, count unique humans across publications or track advertiser outcomes. It is a dated operational aggregate, not an independently audited or randomized audience study.

When citing the table, retain the word selected and the number of matched records beside any percentage. That context prevents a narrow operational subset from being mistaken for a comprehensive list. The 31 unmatched addresses and unresolved identifiers have no role in the displayed distribution; no adjustment is made to guess their answers.

The latest available quiz answer can also change after a person completes another quiz. A future refresh should document whether the same selection, role labels and minimum group size were used. If those rules differ, an apparent movement may result from the method rather than the audience. For a buying decision, request current placement details and a measurement plan specific to the offer.

## FAQ

### How many selected Cyberpresso records matched a quiz?

Of 251 resolved addresses last seen in the segment window, 220 matched a quiz answer and 31 did not. Unresolved identifiers are excluded from the starting count.

### How many matched records chose engineering?

Thirty-five of 220 matched records selected engineering, or 15.9%. That percentage describes the matched sample, not the entire Cyberpresso subscriber list.

### Does this count CISOs or security engineers?

No. The published quiz categories are broad role choices and do not identify a security title, certification or purchasing role.

### Why are most remaining roles combined?

Role groups below 30 matched records, including missing roles, are pooled. The quiz's explicit `other` choice is shown separately.

### Can this predict a sponsorship's leads?

No. The aggregate contains selected role counts. It does not measure an advertiser's deliveries, clicks, leads or sales.
