# Offer Clicks by Placement and Position

How do recorded clicks vary across Dupple offer placements? From 29 October to 4 November 2026, the quiz results wall recorded 1,117 clicks and 5,969 view events at position one, or 18.7 clicks per 100 views. These are aggregate events, not matched viewer journeys or a promised campaign click rate.

*Published and updated 5 November 2026. Data extracted 5 November 2026.*

Dupple operates the offer placements described here and sells lead generation. Our data comes from Dupple's own logs and has not been independently audited. Offers, ranking and audiences differ between placements, so the comparison does not isolate the effect of position.

## The snapshot at a glance

The [placement and position CSV](https://dupple.com/data/dupple-offer-placement-position-2026-11-05.csv) counts events created from 29 October at 00:00 UTC until 5 November at 00:00 UTC, a seven-day window. The results wall shows offer cards after the quiz. The US interstitial is a separate full-page surface recorded under `us_interstitial`. Results are grouped by the position stored with each event, not by advertiser or publication.

The final column divides click events by view events for the same stored surface and rank in the same date window, then multiplies by 100. It does not link each click to a specific view. Views and clicks can be recorded at different moments, and click logging uses filters and deduplication that views do not. A click can happen before a qualifying view is logged. Treat the quotient as a descriptive event ratio, not a probability that an individual viewer clicked.

## What a view event means

The current wall-card tracker records an impression after an eligible card is at least half on screen for at least one second in a visible tab. A tall card can qualify when its visible portion covers at least half of the screen. The interstitial tracker uses a different rule: it sends an impression when the interstitial renders, without that wall-card visibility gate. Both are best-effort signals and neither proves someone read the offer. The endpoint excludes authenticated administrators and skips unknown offers. The wall does not log static fallback cards without a database offer.

The position on the quiz wall is a one-based rank in a presented list. It is not a newsletter ad position. Later ranks have fewer view events in this sample, which is consistent with fewer cards reaching the tracking threshold; the logs do not establish why. Some visitors may not scroll that far, some may see different numbers of offers and some tracking requests may fail. The export cannot distinguish these explanations.

The US interstitial is shown on a different surface and records a first position. It is not an extra row on the wall. Its 3,009 view events and 335 click events describe only this window and source label, not every US campaign or every country-specific interstitial. Other interstitial labels are outside this file. US in the source name describes the placement category, not independently verified residence of every viewer.

## How clicks are counted

The click endpoint records offer clicks with a source label and, where supplied, a position. The current logic filters detected bots and repeated clicks. It also attempts to deduplicate a given offer for an IP or email over 24 hours. Where an IP hash is unavailable, that part of the deduplication cannot run. These controls apply to clicks differently from views, which is one reason the events are not interchangeable.

The wall has 28 recorded click events without a position and no view events in that missing-position group. They are shown separately in the CSV and table instead of assigning them to a rank. Other recorded ranks are combined in one row; this avoids presenting low-volume ranks as stable comparisons. The export includes counts only and no email addresses, IP hashes, offer names, advertiser names or deal values.

The [method file](https://dupple.com/data/dupple-offer-placement-position-method-2026-11-05.txt) contains the read-only aggregation code. It groups each event table independently by its stored source and position and restricts both tables to the same UTC interval. It does not join a click to a view, deduplicate people across events or measure the number of unique visitors. Counts can change if operational records are corrected.

## Why the first rank is not a causal test

The first wall rank had 18.7 recorded clicks per 100 recorded views in this extract; rank two had 6.0. That difference is an observation about two event groups, not evidence that moving the same offer from second to first would triple its results. Ranking, advertiser, offer, targeting, audience, presentation and time can all differ. Some factors may affect both which card is shown and who interacts with it.

A useful placement experiment would hold the eligible population, offer and tracking rules as constant as practical, allocate comparable traffic between ranks and define the outcome before it runs. Confirm sample size, run dates and how repeat events are treated. If that is not possible, ask for offer-specific historical reports and their limitations rather than using a network aggregate as a forecast.

Dupple's [lead generation page](https://dupple.com/advertise/lead-generation) describes targeting and reporting for its product. The [audience and lead data page](https://dupple.com/advertise/data) publishes a different 30-day engagement export, including clicks across several surfaces. Its denominator and window are different from this seven-day placement file, so its click ratio should not be copied into a comparison of these rows.

## How to assess an offer proposal

Start by identifying the surface and the action being bought. A post-signup offer is different from a [Primary Ad](https://dupple.com/advertise/primary-ad) inside a newsletter or a [Dedicated Send](https://dupple.com/advertise/dedicated-send). The view events here do not measure opened emails or newsletter delivery. Ask whether a proposed placement is a wall card, an interstitial, an email link or a site card, and what the seller actually records for it.

Then define the relevant population. Country, role, seniority, industry and company size can restrict eligibility in the [lead generation product](https://dupple.com/advertise/lead-generation). A network-wide observation does not establish the volume available under a narrow filter. Ask for the window, the number of eligible events, the attribution method and the treatment of people without a matching attribute. Dupple's [country snapshot](https://dupple.com/advertise/data/country-mix) illustrates why recorded country and known residence are different questions.

The [Primary Ad guide](https://dupple.com/learn/what-is-a-primary-ad) explains an in-issue format. The [newsletter buying guide](https://dupple.com/learn/how-to-buy-newsletter-ads) explains questions to ask before agreeing a placement. The [sponsorship measurement guide](https://dupple.com/learn/measure-newsletter-sponsorship-roi) discusses choosing an outcome beyond clicks. A click is not a qualified lead, signup, purchase or sale. Advertisers need their own downstream measurement and agreement on what a report can verify.

[EthicalAds' advertiser FAQ](https://www.ethicalads.io/advertisers/faq/), checked 5 November 2026, describes a different website advertising product and its targeting. Its definitions should be read on their own terms. The website ad context is not the same population or event stream as Dupple's quiz wall. Comparing providers requires asking each for the meaning of a view, click and placement, plus the dates and eligibility of its sample.

## What the snapshot cannot establish

This file does not identify unique people, attribute a click to a particular preceding impression or track conversions. It does not include the offers' creative, targeting, advertiser identity or the number of eligible people who never saw a card. The ranking system can change; seven days is a short observation window. Country-specific interstitials besides the US source are excluded, and neither the wall nor the interstitial represents every channel in the Offer Network.

The data is operational and unaudited. Event loss, blocked scripts, different click filters and delayed events can affect the ratio. The numbers cannot establish the performance of a future campaign, prove a difference caused by rank or predict revenue. Ask for a report tailored to the actual offer and audience before making a buying decision.

## FAQ

### What is the highest displayed wall position in this table?

Position one had 5,969 recorded views and 1,117 recorded clicks in this seven-day snapshot. It is the first rank on the quiz results wall, not a newsletter placement.

### Is 18.7% a person's chance of clicking?

No. It is 1,117 click events divided by 5,969 view events in the same group. The export does not match every click to a specific view, and the tracking rules differ.

### Why are some click positions missing?

Position is supplied with the click when available. The snapshot has 28 wall clicks without a recorded rank, reported separately rather than assigned to a position.

### Does the interstitial ratio predict my offer's results?

No. The 11.1 clicks per 100 views describes one source and one week, across the offers that appeared there. Your audience, creative, eligibility and reporting can differ.

### Does a click mean a lead or sale?

No. A recorded click measures an interaction with an offer link. It does not establish a qualified lead, signup, purchase or sale.
